Five-out-of-Five (Just!)
I'm going to give this 5/5, as what I wanted (a Weatherproof dual-gang Outdoor Socket) is what I ended up with. But in all honesty, there are a couple-to-three aspects of the supplied product that irked me:1) I had to drill-out the four holes in the back-box in order to screw it to the wall. There are molded oval recesses in this back-box for these screw-holes, but the, er, actual holes aren't, er, actually supplied...And a little thought is needed to be applied to drill four oval(!) holes in an IP66 Plastic Box - without breaking the IP66 Rating!2) The Enclosure (Back-Box + Front Plate) is very well designed to withstand the weather - when finally assembled. But assembling it is extremely awkward IMHO!The gasket seal between the front plate and rear back-box kept falling off, and is dead fiddly to re-fit properly!Because it falls off, you have to remember to run the cable through this gasket, before terminating the wires into the rear of the socket plate. And if (like me) you like to leave excess cable (future-proofing!) in the back-box, beware that this can actually push-out the 20mm Blanking Plugs (covering the unused cable/conduit entry-points) - from the inside!3) The electrical socket plate is held in place at its edges by 4 screws, and so is replaceable.Which is just as well, as the supplied socket plate was the worst and the cheapest that I have ever had the misfortune to attempt to wire-up!However, as it's a standard Dual-Gang Plate designed to fit a standard Dual Gang Pattress Box, I swapped it out for a decent MK Dual Socket Plate. There are no waterproof seals associated with this socket plate attaching into the enclosure, so swapping this socket plate doesn't appear to affect the IP Rating. Therefore, all-in-all, a bit of a challenge to fit, assemble and wire - even for a 55-year old time-served 17th Electrician (such as I am!)However, the end result is a robust and weatherproof assembly - which is ultimately what can be achieved with this product.Wired from a 16 Amp RCBO, with 2.5mm FTE, run through 20mm Plastic Conduit, entering centrally into the bottom face. Thanks for reading and I hope that this was useful?

This is a well constructed and IP66 rated.
It has provided me with much more convenience and flexibility to use electrical garden products.

Ok..ish
It does the job however the BG one available on Amazon or Screwfix for less is far superior. The waterproof seal is a thin rubber seal which falls out and gets snagged etc. The locking latch is a bit cumbersome. The BG one is pre moulded in and comes with a RCD and a much sturdier locking latch. However it does do its job and for the price it's fair!Give us a thumbs up if useful 😉

Does the job and good value
Wanted an outdoor socket, such as for the garden trimmer and mains extension for the shed. This provided what was needed at a very good price.Connected as a spur from an internal socket, which just required drilling through the exterior wall to connect the cable into the back of this socket.Unlike other similar brand name sockets I have used, the cover clips operated much more easily, but were still effective.Would have preferred it is a more muted colour than the black cover, which makes it stand out like a soar thumb on the buff coloured wall.

A real demonstration you get what you pay for
In a nutshell, I suspect I will be replacing it.A few problems:- The gromits pop out easily, and I suspect will leak. You need to seal them.- The gates on the socket are woeful and rock all over the place making getting a good connection hard.- The cover is not fixed well and pops out quite easily, it's also quite shallow.Other than those not insignificant issues, spiffing.

Great socket box
Great socket box for the price. The only issue I have is with the plastic gromets, they pop out easily. I installed mine in a garage but if your installing this in an area where it's getting the elements I would silicone seal them.I read the bad reviews due to the socket failing quickly but I can say that its easy to replace the existing internal socket with another. Remove the four fixing screws and swap out the socket. The replacement I tested was an MK K2746 WHI.I tried a thicker socket but the fixing screws were too short due to the existing socket having thin edges. You can get over this using longer screws and washers as this dosnt affect the closure of the rear case.I would think that you could install a smart socket replacement too. There is also a hole for a padlock and the clips for securing the lid work well.Very well priced and easy to maintain.

Great item, lid a little annoying
Great product and value for money, however the lid of the item when opened is a little poor. Every time the kid is opened it falls off.
