This will do until 4k Prices come down significantly!
I needed a short throw projector that would fill my bedroom wall, giving me over 100" display, I am replacing a very budget projector I got last year that the dark parts in movies and series were impossible to see what was going on. The quality of this projector is absolutely brilliant, no more issues with dark scenes and the audio was better than expected, though I realise many people will want a sound bar or better sound system. For me the sound is superb. The only issue with the sound I have found, is that the minimum setting on it, is actually still a bit too loud at night (I have older neighbours and don't want to get any grief over it). The fan is a bit loud but no more so that you should expect of most projectors, the other issue I have is the amount of heat this thing generates. No issue during winter but I can imagine some times in summer when it will make it unbearable to even have it switched on for too long. Neither of those issues detract from the projector for me though, as I expect some minor issues like that. It is at the top end of what I would be willing to pay for this type of technology but I do think it's worth it for the extra quality image. I like the cinema experience of it and this gets you that type of picture. Before you buy a projector I advise you to search on google for a projector calculator that will tell you how far away from the screen the projector needs to be and then measure your room and work out where the projector will sit / mount.

Another Projector - Almost perfect!
ANOTHER PROJECTOR REVIEW!So, third projector now (4th if we are counting the £60 cheapy job, which is pretty good actually!)I purchased this around Christmas when the price dropped to £589.00, and what a purchase it is. I'm no expert on projectors, but I'm getting better at them. This one ticks A LOT of boxes.Picture quality ✓Build quality ✓Ease of use ✓Looks ✓When I removed from the box I was instantly impressed, the packaging and protection were well thought out, the slight gold tint to the plastic, and the mounting points being exactly where they should be (compared with the Epsom I reviewed before).Once set up - this took a while, I was projecting at around 4m, I didn't realise this was a short throw, so moved the mount a meter closer to the screen! - it looked great, the picture quality is amazing for a full HD projector (I'm yet to try a 4k pixel shift or true 4k projector, maybe next if she lets me!) The auto vertical keystone works ok to get you in the ball park, but worth adjusting on the controller (or Harmony remote - this works great with this projector) to get the picture perfect. Dark or blacks are still a struggle, but that is more due to the cheap white screen I'm using.I can't comment on the sound quality as this running through a Denon Avr2500 (great budget Atmos Receiver, not purchased through Amazon but I'll review soon!)Again, I've got the same issue with the fans as the Epsom, this one is on par with the Epsom for fan noise, but having moved the mount forward it's less annoying!Rainbow effect, none. I have witnessed the rainbow effect on the Optoma 142x and it was unwatchable so very impressed with the BenQ!Hopefully I'll get round to sorting a 4k soon to review, but for now I'll 'Make Do' with this amazing BenQ.

Good video projector
Very good video projector . I would have put 5 stars if the Bluetooth was available which is not the case . I used to have a pico projector so there is no comparison , this is real stuff . Since i'm not a pro , i won't make any comparison . Sound is good , although i prefer to plug my own speaker .There is 2 things , i would like to mention :1) the keystone feature is fine but i was a little bit disappointed since i thought i could do much more with the image position from a corner ...2) the sound , even at the minimum ( so level 1) it is a little bit too loud .

Brilliant
Great pictures. The colour is accurate and comes with a factory calibration certificate for rec709 spec. Is also capable of displaying almost full range greyscale (0-255) for use with PC etc. not suitable for daylight use. Motion is judder free with little to no bluring. Black levels are decent but recommend a grey screen to use with it. Easy to use and set up. Not too noisy unless listening at very low volume movies. For the money its a great buy imo.

Great picture and easy to set up, 5*
After initially purchasing a unit less than half the price and returning because of the poor quality, I was very apprehensive in paying an additional £400 for this BenQ but was pleasantly surprised by the sharp images and easy set up. I’ve only tested it for 10 mins but everything seems fine and would definitely recommend. In my opinion I would give those projectors sub £300 a wide berth as you definitely get what you pay for.

Top quality projector in its price range.
An amazing projector which replaced my 12 year old Benq. It’s very easy to set up, plug and play. The picture is very crisp, bright and amazing contrast. We use the project for Blu-ray and HD streaming in a dark room and quality Greywolf projector screen. For this price I cannot fault it

Really Good!
I had the w1070 for about 5 years before I thought that it was worth upgrading. And even then I wasn't sure that it was at this price point. But I bought this and it's great. Very bright and lovely colours. The blacks are way better and the machine is very quiet indeed. I use it against a grey painted wall and it's very rich looking. I love it.

An excellent entry level performer
This my 1st DLP and am well pleased with the performance. After initial straightforward set up I hooked the projector up to my Yamaha AV amp and watched the film Everest. I was simply blown away by the BENQs performance. My screen hasn't arrived yet so I rigged up a screen from an old bed sheet and even with that level of screen the picture was breath taking.
