Breville VST079 Waffle Maker Plates (VST041) and High Gloss Deep Fill (VST074) Sandwich Toasters, Grey

I’ve cooked and enjoyed waffles for more years than I care to remember. I was introduced to waffles as a child, over 50 years ago and the cook had a Swan electric waffle maker which made a large circular waffle, divided into four segments. I was hooked; lashings if butter and proper Canadian maple syrup. I could eat them as fast as they were made.My first waffle iron was a French top of cooker iron. I used it for years, but eventually the hinge broke. The next was also a top of cooker iron; one way made a toasted sandwich, the other side made a waffle. That was good too, but I moved and my next cooker was electric and it didn’t work as well compared to gas.I bought a few electric waffle irons, from cheap( around£20) to more expensive (top price I paid was just under £50 for a dedicated waffle iron). Variable results, but none were excellent and cleaning the plates was never easy. I received a Breville toastier maker as a gift recently and was delighted to find it has removable toastie plates and can be used as a waffle iron too. It’s outstanding. The plates heat quickly, they’re non stick and can be washed in the dishwasher. It’s easy to change the sandwich plates for the waffle plates and so far, I’ve had perfect waffles every time.A quick and substantial breakfast with fruit or bacon, an any time snack and just so easy to make in minutes. Love this gadget and it’s versatility.

We saw these plates advertised when we recently went back to the Breville Toasted Sandwich maker. I love waffles, but buying a dedicated waffle iron just never really appealed to me. As these plates fit in something we have, I thought I'd try them. I'm so glad I did. They make perfect waffles. There is a selection of recipes in the booklet. Even the luxury waffles are easy to make (and worth the extra effort). I got about 10 rather than 12 out of the recipe, but it's more than enough and we've separated them and frozen them, so we can just put them in the toaster from frozen during the week.I've been using low calorie spray and allow around 6 mins 30 for the perfect waffle for our family. Completely non-stick, easy to install, easy to clean. I really couldn't be happier with these, and they are smaller for me to store than a full size waffle iron, and cheaper too.

I already had the Breville deep fill sandwich toaster and recently bought these. The recipe I used was fabulous but these cook beautifully every time. It only takes approx 3 - 5 minutes if that depending on how crispy or soft you want them. The lid of the sandwich toaster must not be clicked closed as this allows the steam to come out and the waffle to rise so fabulously. We love these and I personally would highly recommend. I had better photos but they're on my daughter's phone! I lightly greased the plates before adding the waffle mixture. Superb result every time and exceptionally easy to remove the plates and clean (like the sandwich plates). You won't be disappointed :)

Bought these for the Mrs as she's been craving waffles through her pregnancy.The Plates themselves come well packed and come with a great little recipe book for multiple different types of waffle. The waffles themselves do take a little perfecting with the amount, but they come out quite nice and so far there's been no complaints.The main issue that I would have thought could have been resolved in the design stage is that the toaster should NOT be closed when making waffles (to allow the steam to escape) However, there's nothing but the lock to prevent this. Why wouldn't you have a bit of metal built into the plates to stop it fully closing?Other than that, a happy pregnant woman means a happy man.. with waffles! :-)

Not happy with, how it’s been delivered. As you can see the postage label was on the actual waffle box and not wrapped so the product was highly visible. It was in danger of getting lost or stolen. First time ever, I received a parcel like this through Amazon. Note to seller to take some care with packaging.Waffle plates itself is Original Breville according to the box and fits perfectly on my Breville toaster. I made Belgium waffles on it and it came perfectly. Deep waffle plates easy to remove and clean and good quality nonstick plates. Overall very happy with my purchase and will definitely recommend these.

I’ve never made waffles before so I was totallyImpressed with how these turned out :) Just got the sandwich maker and the waffle plates in the post today . I followed the fluffy waffle recipe you can find in the wee leaflet that comes with the waffle plates . Not sweet enough for my taste but nice and fluffy . The very first batch of 2 pancakes burnt but the following batches were perfect . I used a folded kitchen towel to keep the latch from closing and they turned out lovely ! I used oil spray on the plates and nothing stuck to it . Really happy with the results . Clean , quick and delicious ! Would definitely recommend .

So I was doubtful that these would work effectively - especially given some of the middling reviews - but I was hugely surprised and impressed with these plates!!Very easy to use by just clipping them into the toaster instead of the sandwich plates.The recipe for traditional waffles was easy to follow and the first batch alone (pictured) were fabulous! Mixture makes 12 and keeps in the fridge.As others have noted, it's important not to give in to the impulse to overfill...the mixture really does rise to fill the space!Also several people said they struggled to prop the toaster open? I just chopped the bottom centimetre off a cork and placed on the handle (again in the picture) and it works a treat.Very impressed - and the kids think I'm even more amazing too :-)

I really love my Breville Toasted Sandwich maker. I've had it a few years now and it still works perfectly. An additional benefit is the ability to change out the plates and I've been meaning to get these waffle plates for a while now. Well I'm so glad I finally got them. I've been making waffles (both sweet and potato waffles) non stop since I got them. They work perfectly and the recipes are so easy to follow. We really enjoy them. Great buy and so worth it :-)

Wir haben den SandwichtoasterBreville VST074X Hochglanz DuraCeramic...gleich zweimal geordert,weil wir den wunderbar finden - geht einmal auch in dieFerienwohnung - nun noch die zweite Überraschung - obwohl nichtdie gleiche Beschichtung (Keramik) wie die Sandwichplatten..und von irgenwo anders geliefert - alles TOP!Die Einsätze funktionieren prima und das Rezept in der Beschreibungwird superluftig und knusprig - ebenso gleich zweimal ergänzt.Der Sandwich-Toaster ist eine Sensation - und mit beiden Möglichkeitendas Beste auf dem Markt - wie wir finden - und wir haben uns sehrviel angeschaut. Ein bischen Geduld muss man für optimales Ergebnisaufbringen - je nach Waffelteig 7-10 Minuten - aber dafür ist man auchrecht schnell satt - da die Waffeln ja auch richtig was hermachen...

Sehr schön, dass es diese Zusatzeinlegeplatten für Breville gibt. Nur ein Gerät für Sandwich und Waffeln. Spart Platz. Ist super einfach auseinander zu nehmen und damit auch einfach zu reinigen. Ich würde es mir immer wieder kaufen. Qualität sehr hochwertig. Erzeugt deutlich mehr Freude als die Preisgünstigen Discounterprodukte die jährlich ersetzt werden müssen.
