Soichi: Junji Ito Story Collection

I don't know how to feel after the end of Soichi. It was magnificent and the main character goes from being a little brat, to the reader a split second later feeling a little sorry for, to hating his guts for something he does in the next panel another split second later. The whole time I was waffling between wanting to beat him up to being amazed about these curses. Fans of Junji Ito will definitely enjoy the creepy and almost nerve wracking story here. I don't read much manga, other then this, 2 other Junji Ito titles I have read, UZUMAKI and SHIVER. And the 1st manga I EVER STARTED and am currently reading the series is Berserk. This is my only experience with manga and am so happy I found Berserk but also and as important Junji Ito's stories.

it’s a gorgeous book and a lot thicker than i thought it would be, i got it for my husband for christmas as a “filler” gift thinking it was just a short little manga but i think he’s gonna be really happy about it :)

Bought as a Christmas gift, didn’t regret it

I have been a BIG fan of Soichi since middle school so I was looking forward to reading this collection for a few months (hence why I preordered it ͡° ͜ʖ ͡° ). Soichi is a weird little kid who is a bit spooky and makes the most strange things happen. (the rating is older teen). My favorite part about this book was that we FINALLY get to see the origins of one of my fav Junji Ito villains : The Scary Fashion Model. My only complaint is that there are 2 more Soichi stories that aren’t included in this collection. Both are about a Haunted House that Soichi opens up as an adult (these stories are included in the Smash collection but it would’ve been nice to have all the Soichi stories in one book). Unlike the Tomie collection these stories aren’t as repetitive and each one is unique and fun in their own way. Nice little read to add to my horror comics collection :,))

Granddaughter asked Santa this book for Xmas. She was so happy to get this.
