Aurora 120-Sheet Auto High Security Micro-Cut Paper Shredder / 30 Minutes

This is a good shredder for home and home-office use. I have purchased many shredders over the years and Aurora shredders have worked well and at a reasonable price.Micro-cut is a must, otherwise it kind of defeats having a shredder. But many micro-cut shredders are either way too low-volume (overheats quickly) or too large (for commercial use). This is a nice size for placing it under table or desk. It is a medium-volume use. You could go through several hundred pages, but then it has to cool-down for several minutes. So it is not for people that shred tons of paper all at once.It is nice that it has a narrow basket. Most shredders have more square-ish pull-out basket, whereas this one has narrow one which makes it easy to dump the content into a small trash bag without spilling. I dump into a grocery paper bag so the whole thing can be thrown into paper recycling dumpster.If you shred more than a ream of paper at a time, then get a larger one at a local office supplier. Otherwise this is a nice unit.BTW, mine stopped working after about 10 months. The motor would stop after a few seconds of turning on. The customer service was excellent and they shipped a new one without the hassle of sending the old one back.

This is a replacement for my original shredder. My original shredder worked great until the top bar broke. I was beyond my original 1 year warranty. I did however have the extended warranty and they paid for return shipping and gave me an Amazon Credit for my original purchase. There was a price increase, so the same shredder cost me a little more, but I was pleased with the performance and how quiet the unit was, I purchased the same unit This is a high security shredded so it really cuts up the paper. Overall... a great shredder

So I took this shredder straight out of the box! Took the instructions out and threw them in the trash! Who needs instructions?!?🤷🏻‍♂️😁. I grabbed a bunch of paper and some old CD's and turned on the shredder. The top of the shredder says "10 sheets maximum" on it. LOL!😝So I grabbed 12 sheets of paper and fiddled around with this strange safety rocker mechanism at the top and shoved my 12 sheets in it and the shredder ate them up with no problems!So I grabbed 14 sheets and shoved them into this poorly implemented safety rocker slot on top of the shredder again. The shredder ate these sheets up with no problems!So I went and grabbed my 2003 AOL start up cd disc. I shoved AOL into the specially designed cd slot on the safety rocker mechanism on top of the shredder. The shredder grabbed that cd and ate it up like a fat man at a buffet table!Ok so I'm very impressed with this shredder. This is a 5 STAR SHREDDER but I'm taking away 1 star for this annoyingly poor rocker safety design they used on top of the shredder. This rocker mechanism really annoys the hell out of me and ticks me off! Great powerful shredder! It's also pretty darn quiet! But a poorly designed safety rocker mechanism 🤦🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️-----Update Mar 20,2021Just used the shredder again today and I'm really liking this thing. It eats up everything and i'm walking around the house finding random stuff just so I can shove it in the shredder.🤣So I pulled out the Shredder's waist bin which was pretty cool because it's just a drawer you pull out just like a file cabinet. Everything was shredded perfectly and I was able to dump the miniature pieces it shredded into our trash can with no issues and slide the drawer back into the shredder with no problems. I really really like this shredder. May update at a later date but so far this thing is awesome but I still think the safety rocker panel at the top is annoying. 🙂👍

Very Impressive so far. Quiet, no jams, easy to empty the slide-out basket of shredded paper. Much better design than having to lift the heavy top with the blades to get at the shredded paper. Seems to be sturdy and well-made. Caster wheels are also a nice feature. It hasn't jammed yet so I can't say how easy it will be to deal with that when it inevitably happens.

Couldn't be happier with this paper shredder. I used it for about 45 minutes straight and had no problems with it shutting down because of overheating. It jammed once, but that was my fault since I was trying to shred more at one time then I should have. I was able to shred up to four pages of paper triple folded at one time (plus the envelope) with no problem. There was no need to open envelopes to unfold the paper before putting through the paper shredder; thus making it quite a time saver. I was very surprised at how small it shredded the paper. The small curled shredded paper pieces measure less then 1/8" wide and just over 1/4" long, much smaller then most paper shredders.

Home use, personal shredder. Runs very quietly, shredded for over 1 hour without stopping to cool down. Size of cut is great for privacy. On wheels, easy to move. Great safely features - opening too small for adult hands, will shut off if anything small enters where you put the paper in. Basket is easy to remove and to empty. Shredder automatically turns off when you pull the basket out. Would buy it again!

Replaced my aging, noisy, clumsy shredder. Most attractive feature is the pullout basket. No longer have to lift off the heavy motorized top, no more having to pick up all the stray bits of shredded paper that always escape when trying to empty. Bonus surprise is how much quieter it is than my older unit and how much less bulk is created because of the micro blading feature. Also like that I dont have to open and seperate the junk mail - just feed the thick unopened envelopes into machine and voila - little pieces! Less time spent - less waste - more security. Whats not to like?
