Great Humidor for long term storage of lots of cigars
I have waited a over a year to write this review to see how this humidor performed throughout all seasons. I live in NJ so the winters can be quite cold and dry, and humid summers too. I use this for long term storage and only open it to bring some cigars out to be put in a smaller humidor, so I dont have to open it as often. The box is spacious and can easily hold several hundred cigars, including full boxes. That makes buying in bulk cheaper and convenient without the worry of the cigars drying out even if you don't get to them for years. I have a wireless digital hygrometer inside and every time I walked by the box, it was always stuck within a percent of 70% all year long. I think the advantage of this being so large is that once it is seasoned, there is a lot of air space which allows the air circulate and stay constant . For hydration, I am using two foam pads and distilled water, and two gel jars distributed throughout the different levels. Again, with all the space, the is plenty of room for them, and the gel jars have not needed changing for a year, so there must be a good seal. So basically it is a set it and forget it kind of setup. One warning is to not do what I did, and rush putting cigars in there. It does take a week or longer for things to stabilize. But once it does, it will be solid from there.

Mixed Bag but Okay in the long run
The humidor is very nice for the price and a welcome addition to my hobby. There are some reasons why I can't rate it higher that other buyers should be aware of: When I purchased this item the description of the interior dimensions in the advert were wrong, it listed exterior dimensions of the packing box. The item is constructed of veneered manufactured density fiber board (mdf), though this was merely an omission in the description, typical of the price point and not intentionally misleading. The item was "open box", that is to say it had probably been returned but was advertised as "new". There was some damage to the humidor when I opened it: minor splintering of the veneer and one of the rails that hold the shelf in place had broken off. This was a minor repair (scraping the mdf off the original glue points on the rail and re-gluing) but it was disappointing. Now the good news: The humidor seasoned easily and is holding humidity in the cold, dry Pennsylvania winter very nicely. It holds a lot of cigars as advertised. It is a handsome addition to my hobby. I will make the same suggestions I've read about most humidors... throw away the analog hygrometer (buy a digital) and toss the foam humidifier (replace with beads, boveda packs or other methods that aren't prone to mold and unstable relative humidity). In the long run I decided to keep this because the defects weren't something I couldn't deal with and I'm happy with the item but I am disappointed in the transaction in general. I had the opportunity to buy an "open box" at a discount here on Amazon but chose the "new" and paid full price... so it is a bit of a let down. I did NOT contact the seller to rectify any of my concerns. I would buy this item again and I DO recommend it to others. It is available under many different names: Havana Footlocker etc... but I'm guessing they are probably all from the same factory, so shop for a good price.

I really like this Humidor
I really like this Humidor. First, it's big. Second, it's not that expensive. Opening the lid for the first time filled the house with a nice aroma of spanish cedar. Looking inside, everything appeared relatively well constructed, which is always a consideration on import items of any kind much less humidors. The two shelves were sturdy and well constructed. The outside finish was about what I expected. It wasn't anything to write home about in terms of absolute quality, but there were no flaws. Again, if you want high end burled walnut or real top flight veneers or solid woods, stop shopping in the bargain basement. But it's attractive for what it is.There is ample room in the lower portion for a number of boxes of varying size. Where there isn't room for boxes, the trays have quite a capacity for singles.I will be honest though, after seasoning the entire box, I pretty much tossed the crappy hygrometer and humidifiers it came with. I keep them around, but they are what they are. For approximately $20 I bought a good digital hygrometer that fits in the same spot and is much more accurate without all the guesswork. Additionally, I laced the interior with several tubes of DryMistat throughout. Those two additions keep the humidor at a very consistent 69% RH, which is good for me.My advice is to buy the box. It smells good, has decent construction, and does what it is supposed to do. Spend a few extra bucks on upgrades and you will be VERY happy with the performance.

Like any humidor you will need to upgrade it's humidifier ...
Like any humidor you will need to upgrade it's humidifier and higromiter, they are not part of this rating. Higromiter is useless but looks good. I have added xikar higromiter and cristal humidifiersYou get exactly what you hope for with this box. There are imperfections with the finish of the outside of box and you can see that the Spanish cedar is only a thin vanier on the inside, but it does the job. The aroma is quite low (spanish cedar is ideal because of its low odar) similar to humidor cabinets priced at $6000.The design of a chest is not the most practical for everyday use and like all humidor ratings you won't fit 400 cigars. But for the price you can't beet this humidor. This box is ideal for long term storage as the bottom of the box which is harder to access has a lower humidity, say 65% - 68% which is perfect for aging. The top two layers have keep a perfect 70 70 reading and I've used it mutable times every day since i have had it. And it is in the middle of a hot summer here. The seal is great, the lock works, it feels nice and solid. Shipping was more than a week ahead of scheduled for international delivery. It has a very strong hinge. Well recomended if you want to store a large amount for cheap.

Great price and quality product!
I shopped around and was in the market for a large humidor that could hold 150+ cigars, including full boxes. What I found in the cigar shops were overpriced, smaller humidors that looked very nice, but cost too much and wouldn't hold the volume of cigars I was looking to store. This humidor delivers, and it is just as sturdy and well made as anything else out there. You have to know how to season it properly, and I bought a digital hygrometer, as well as two dials (one from a prior humidor and one that came with this humidor). I wouldn't recommend using the sponges that mount on the inside of the lid, as they over-humidify the top rack. Get the Boveda packs and place these in the bottom of the humidor - I use the 72s and i currently have 4 of them for about 120 cigars. Five boxes can easily fit on the bottom of the humidor, and then you have two racks that can hold 20-30 per rack, depending on the size of the cigars. If you take the time to season this properly, use the Boveda packs, and buy a digital hygrometer, you simply cannot go wrong with this product.
