The two settings have two different volumes but they are also two different play noises. One is rather loud but not annoyingly noticeably so, the other is so low you can barely hear it but was nice for wind down play.This thing is sturdy! It has been dropped and thrown in the weeks we have it and still has not been affected.

This is a great baby flashlight! Got it for my daughter who always wants my flashlight and she loves it. With this one, there are two options, a light option where you hold the button on the handle to turn of the flashlight (turning the front just changes colors and the buttons make a music note noise) or the play option which are songs and turning the front to find things. We usually stick with the light option right now.I would say there are one and a half cons. It feels like cheaper plastic. It hasn’t broken yet but it seems like it will sooner than the other toy flashlight I looked at.The half would be the sound. It is VERY quiet. I read reviews talking about how quiet it was but didn’t think much of it. I was very shocked when I first turned it on. By far the quietest toy I ever heard. There isn’t a volume option on it. I say it is only a half con because sometimes the quieter a toy is the better.Over all I am very happy with this product and would recommend getting it.

My son is afraid of the dark and enjoys reading books at night in his bed while he's trying to go to sleep we got him a flashlight when he was about 18 months. The flashlight was beat up a bit because #toddlerlife. We replaced the batteries a couple time until in finally gave out when he was about 3. We got him this one, same one and he was so excited! He's almost 4 now and still loves to look at those books with his flashlight. The flashlight can be a bit loud but at night we try to keep it just on the flashlight setting instead of the play/singing setting. My favorite part it that he has to put his thump on the turtle for the light to shine so once he falls asleep the flashlight isn't left on and using the batteries up. We are also giving this flashlight as a gift to his cousin we love it so much!

I personally think this is a great toy, but my 19 month old wants nothing to do with it. It's made well and seems durable, so I'm sure if he actually played with it, it would hold up.The different colors are a great way to mix it up and the songs aren't horrible. Overall, I think it's great but my child thinks otherwise. Maybe he'll grow to like it one day.

My 1 year old son loves this toy. We bought him multiple things for Christmas, yet this is the one toy he wants everyday. He’s a flashlight lover. If he finds one, good luck getting it away from him. I think he enjoys the flashlight part the most, and then all of the music and sounds are an extra bonus. I would buy this again and again.

I haven't read reviews because I am so pissed off at the inaccessibility of the battery compartment.I have already stripped the screws on one of the 3 that I bought. It requires a special small screwdriver.Why? Why not a simple screw off cap?? OK, make it kid proof but is that so hard?I have to get a smaller screwdriver days before Christmas and hope I don't strip more screws.Why couldn't the batteries have been installed ?Very upset great grandmother>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Sorry, I like them a lot now that my son opened the battery compartment and there were batteries in it already.My apologies. Super cute for my toddler. The light isn’t very bright, but at least my little one thinks that they’re using a special flashlight - not daddy’s expensive flashlight!

This is a great little flash light for the little ones not only that it is a great toy to have changes colors and also ur child can learn and sing while using this instead of it just being a boring flash light you get more for the your buck

Great gift for my grandsons who love playing with dollar store flashlights. But I did get the wrong impression that the animals on the outside ring around the light would be projected to the wall when selected. I am not sure why I had this impression, but just want to other parents to manage their expectations. Otherwise it is a wonderful, sturdy toy that is fun to play with.
