Do your research
I have waited 5 months to leave a review. I wanted to make sure that all the bad reviews I read here were real or false. I have degenerative disc disease so I couldn't sleep in my bed with my husband anymore. I was sleeping in a recliner in the living room. I sell on eBay so I had an eBay room. With much discussion with my husband, we cleaned out my eBay room got me a hospital bed off of Facebook Marketplace and I finally ordered this mattress topper. Now it is important to tell you that I spent months researching mattress toppers. I read the good reviews and the bad. If I saw a common thread in the bad reviews then I didn't even think about going with that topper. Then I saw the video that Arzante posted with his 5-star review. I took a second look at this topper again. It was now at the top of my list. I received the topper a few days before my room was ready. So I was able to lay it out for a few days prior to sleeping on it. One thing I saw in several reviews on a lot of toppers was that there was a horrible chemical smell. Mine had no odor at all. That was the first thing I did when we got it opened was to take a big sniff and I didn't smell anything bad.I am a woman in my early 50s and I have horrible hot flashes. I also weigh over 250 pounds. I think it is important for you to know this for the second part of my review. I have read a lot of reviews complaining of the foam making them hot during the night or the foam flattened when used. This is why I wanted to wait 5 months to leave my review. I wanted to make sure I gave YOU accurate information. August in Iowa is unpleasant to begin with, but when you throw hot flashes into the mix it can be downright miserable. My wonderful husband put in a ceiling fan and a window air conditioner in my room. Along with an atomic clock that tells me the temperature in the room and what it is outside. I didn't have much trouble with being hot when sleeping with the topper. I was even using cotton sheets. Now it is Winter in Iowa. There are a few things I have figured out during my 5 months with my topper. Tencel or bamboo sheets are a must-have for those who run hot when they sleep. After the window air conditioner was taken out I did start waking up hot and had to uncover for a while. I am still using the ceiling fan and it helps. This is where the atomic clock comes in. I have also closed the vent in my room to our boiler so I get very little heat in my room. I prefer to go to bed when my room is at around 65 degrees. At times I wake up and my room is 71 - 73 degrees. Most days it is 69 degrees. With a room that cool and bamboo sheets I get chilled when I go to bed, but within minutes I am warmed up and perfectly comfortable. These are some of the things that I do to make sure my foam topper stays in good condition. At least once a month we strip the bed and flip the topper and make sure that what was at my feet is now at my head and the top is now the bottom. The topper is inspected for creases, rips, or tears. I have yet to find one. We also switch the hospital mattress from foot to head and vice versa. One of the things I was worried about using a foam topper was using an adjustable hospital bed. My head and feet are raised. What is this doing to the foam topper? Nothing. It is perfectly fine. This is important to know. When you wash the padded mattress cover DO NOT PUT IT IN THE DRYER!!! Let it air dry. We read the instructions and dried it on low and it seems to have shrunk a little bit. In width not in length. It is about an inch narrower on both sides now. This isn't a huge deal, I don't sleep on the edge of the bed. Also, twin XL sheets are not going to fit perfectly on this bed. We got straps that make the sheets tighter. Deep pocket sheets are not your friend with a hospital bed. This is my take on this topper. It is comfortable. I do feel like I am being cradled when sleeping. I don't move much in my sleep as it is a twin bed and when it is adjusted it is hard to sleep on your side unless you flatten the bed more. My back and hip pain has diminished. It will never go away fully, but I don't have to wrap a heating pad around my lower back for an hour after getting up just to be able to move. This is not a firm topper, nor is it is super soft. I guess for me I am Goldilocks and I found the one that is just right. At the end of the day, it is about your preference. This is perfect for me and if I ever need to replace this topper I will be buying this same one again.

Truly Good and Then Questionable Issues...(and needs a 5 or 10 year warranty)
Okay, first things first -- I did a lot of research on mattress toppers/featherbeds and based it all on a recent (and extremely affordable) stay at a Ritz Carlton (let's refer to as "RC" moving forward) outside of Wash DC as the Ritz has their own featherbed topper that's made with down (a fav of mine as I don't like the fake down replacements that have touted "like down" for years -- and they're not even close to real down). I liked the RC version but didn't love it as it wasn't evenly distributed enough throughout a night's sleep and was down, which for a pillow is wonderful but as a mattress topper, can be too soft overall in terms of full body (just one person's opinion). Next, there are SO MANY FAKE reviews on Amazon and other sites that it's always tough to tell what's real and what's stacked in the vendor's favor -- but on products like these, seemed to be more than usual (I assume the mark-ups on these are insane with all of them made in China or similar). Anyway, I went with this product as we have a Sleep Number king mattress -- love them -- we have two -- but they do need some cushioning on top of the air mattress, as if a side sleeper like myself, there can be "firm points" such as hips, shoulders, elbows, etc. This is pretty much the combination that I was looking for although my ultimate goal was to have the top layer to be down feathertopper or bit thicker cushion of down-substitute -- these things ain't cheap, so it's always a risk as can't just take it back to Bed Bath & Beyond or Walmart if doesn't work out. So the thing was fulfilled as expected -- quickly -- and packed reasonably -- BUT (and fortunately don't think we'll be returning it) if you don't like it, trying to re-pack the memory foam topper must be truly tough as the thing comes in a small box the size of a short kitchen trash can. The memory foam is rolled up tightly and wrapped in plastic -- I don't even know if I could roll this bad boy back and fit it into the box -- that's a concern, but hopefully not going to have to deal with it. The outer box was a bit larger but nothing too helpful if we do end up returning it. Next, the instructions -- basically NONE other than washing instructions for the outside topper piece. Basic questions for any human would be how to unpack, how long to let the memory foam air out and "load up", how long will smell last, etc. That's just ridiculous and even with a great product, going this route is just stupid, lazy and embarrassing -- maybe Apple can get away with it, but other than them -- pretty much no other manufacturer should even try (and even with Apple it's annoying). They don't even include instructions on how to set it up on a bed -- and there are no markings to let you know aspect ratio -- would be a nice simple touch, but I get it -- would add a bit of cost. I had already watched some videos during the review process so knew the simple setup on a bed and we let the memory foam air out on top the bed during the day with the box it came in, underneath along with some large tissue boxes so that air could flow under and around the memory foam -- worked nicely. The smell isn't too bad (and I absolutely hate smells when trying to sleep) -- in fact, the smell of the Sleep Number mattress is much worse when first setting it up -- also, airing out for a couple of days with windows open and fan in the room blowing on it helped. There was a faint smell (very faint) the first night, but nothing that I noticed unless face down and that will fade over the next week or two I suspect (based on other reviews) -- plus we have some memory foam pillows so over time the memory foams soften up plus smell fades away. The soft top layer is a bit shorter in height than I was looking for but it's enough to give you some cushioning on top of the memory foam -- but for those of you investigating similar products, you do primarily feel the memory foam with a softer "edge" to it -- which is extremely nice for sleeping on. The advantage we have is the Sleep Number mattress because that now is even more effective given the use of this topper -- so we can soften one side while another side can be firmer -- but the topper is "global". We've only had this thing in use for a couple of days, so will try to update months from now -- but so far, it's solid and works extremely well for us. The price point is higher than I wanted to go with, but if lasts 5 years or longer will be happy. This product ONLY comes with a 3-year warranty -- that's BS -- other products come with 10-year and I saw some with 5, while some had a lifetime -- 3 years is BS -- and that's a star off for that alone -- go to 5 or better yet 10 -- and stand behind your product -- this is a product that sits between a mattress and fitted sheet -- they really only giving people 3 years? I suspect that it may develop holes or rips over time -- and that's one major concern as this wasn't a $50 or other sub-$100 product. The instructions are only for washing/care like a tag on shirt and for some people they may not notice the straps for the corners of the memory foam, may not know how to air it out, etc. -- they should take a few hours and make it a no-brainer with a step-by-step process of unpacking, airing out, etc. All in all, right now we're at 90 to 95 out of 100 and with a longer warranty, better prep instructions and if we love it months from now -- could be close to 100. Hopefully ViscoSoft will read this and offer longer warranties moving forward for peace of mind plus to show/prove they truly stand by a product which should last at least 5 years -- if not longer, when not abused, and cared for properly. Hopefully this legit and honest review will help some of you in the seas of fakeness.

A comfortable topper for a hot sleeper!
I retired my ten-year-old mattress and cheapo foam topper a few months ago and decided to spring for a Tempu-Pedic mattress, thinking it was the better version of what I was used to. I spent a pretty penny on that mattress but after a month of sweaty, painful sleep, I threw in the towel. The mattress rep told me to give it another 30 days but I was tired of waking up sore and clammy. Apparently some hot sleepers respond poorly to Tempur-Pedics, which was a surprise to me since I was used to sleeping on foam.I tried a few different mattress pads, toppers, and foam options before finding this one and I'm very satisfied. The first night I slept on it, the high for the day was 112 degrees. I figured, "If I wake up sweaty, that's to be expected." I was amazed when I woke up dry and rested.I've already recommended the topper to two people and they're satisfied with the results too. I didn't have any issues with chemical smells, though I did let the foam sit in the spare room for 72 hours before putting it on the mattress. I've washed the topper once and it kept it's shape and fluffiness (be sure to look at the instructions to maximize your results). The bands at the corners are a nice touch, though you may need to invest in new sheets, especially if you go with the 4-inch option. It's worth it for a comfortable night's sleep however!

Received a knock off, inferior copy
Not as shown. This was a much lower quality knock off that wasn’t made properly. Having had one previously, I knew what was expected. This was half the height, the wrong colour and an extremely dense foam that I could have purchased anywhere close to home. It’s very uncomfortable because it’s not airated as it should have been. I’m very disappointed at having been deceived by the seller. I only paid this price because I knew what I needed to be comfortable. I can’t use it.

Gran almohadilla de colchon
El colchon ViscoSoft es ultra suave pero Brinda apoyo. El colchon de gel es grueso y firme y la colcha superior es suave y lo convierte en un buen descanso nocturno.

Not firm at all but it does bounce back well ...
Not firm at all but it does bounce back well. Definitely would have preferred a firmer piece of foam. I've also had this mattress in open air for 2 weeks and it still smells. I will give it one more week otherwise I will return it.

It was the perfect solution
This was the perfect solution to my back issues, and also saved me from having to invest in a whole new mattress. The quilted cover was an added bonus! Very happy with this mattress topper!
