Philip Allan Updates Textbook

I am using this text book to supplement my studies for a Access to Higher Education so a Level 3 qualification. I have found this book very useful but my only criticism is that it seems to waffle on abit but it would be good for those students who may be studying psychology for the first time. I find the text book helpful in recapping what we have done in class and feel that it helps the information to go in as it is explained clearly. I would definitely recommend this to anyone studying AS psychology.

An excellent publication with clear illustrations and graphics. A very stylish front cover and a powerfulbook in the field of psychology. Well worth reading...a good investment for those pursuing psychologicalstudies. Also a valuable reference book.

I am an early (YR 11) AS Student and purchased this book to prepare for the course. As it's my first A-Level one year early, I would definitely recommend this book for anyone who is studying for this course! It explains everything in detail so you can fully grasp the concepts. There aren't as many visuals as with this book http://www.amazon.co.uk/Edexcel-Psychology-Student-Book-ActiveBook/dp/1846902614/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1371475001&sr=8-1&keywords=as+edexcel+psychology but does cover many things the book does not.The only thing I didn't like was that it explains a lot that you don't need to know and so without a teacher guiding you with what you do need to know, you may end up stressing over trying to learn everything!And I didn't stick to it like glue throughout the year, as it is only useful for when the teacher/other student book only covers a study briefly.Overall, if you prepare for lessons before the teacher has given it, and/or take time to learn concepts, I would recommend this book. (More helpful if used alongside the student book in the link).

Great buy...I bought this for my daughter for her A - levels & it has suited her needs just fine.
