First when i opened the package it felt very flimsy but the blades were sharp - i know because I cut my finger trying to place the blade- and I thought I give it a try on a English cucumber with good but not great results.Unfortunately when I tried it on a steak tomato it barely made it through the skin and with more pressure only ended up shredding the slices.I will return it and find a better constructed one.

I like the design of this product, but they clearly used the cheapest plastic they could find. This thing is incredibly flimsy.The blades are nice and sharp, but it's incredibly difficult to use just because it feels like it's going to collapse on itself at any moment. I primarily purchased this to julienne root vegetables, and while it's doable, it's a very slow and frustrating process because of how cheap and flimsy the construction is.

I was not impressed with this at all. The quality seems very poor. The one I received didn't come with any directions so I just had to figure it out. I'm not even sure exactly what all of the pieces were for. The vegetable peeler that came with it wouldn't even cut butter.

My wife likes it and she enjoys using it. But the 4 star is coz its sometimes hard to use certain blades for hard vegetables like Beets. Its really hard to use the Mandoline blades for Beets and they get stuck into the blades and sometimes dont get the right shape and cut. But works great with other veges like Carrot, etc.

Well. You get what you pay for. I’ve wanted a mandoline for a while, but didn’t feel I could justify the high dollar price of a top-line tool – so I shopped around . . . and found this one, that not only fit my budget but came in a color that fit my color scheme.UNFORTUNATLY, at $21.99 I feel ripped off. This tool is junk. It’s cheaply constructed, and does not work at all well. I was disappointed when I opened the box and saw how flimsy it was – but decided to give it a go – I likely should have packed it back up and sent it right back, but I was optimistic that it would work better than it looks. I does not . . . the blades are sharp enough, but the gripping mechanism for holding onto one’s veggies while slicing them is tricky to use and keeps coming apart. Also the way the alternate blades are stored within the unit, means you either have to pull them all out before use, or resign yourself to having to clean all of them after you use it. Poorly designed, poorly constructed – this is a fail.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  Pretty cool produce slicer/grader. Super easy to use and comes with a bunch of different attachments (pictures included). Has rubber grips on the bottom to keep the catchment bowl from sliding. Its super easy to use that my 8 and 9 year old can use it (under the supervision of an adult that is). I have even attached a video of them using it.

Yes, this product is cheap. Yes, it does have some rough corners (thus 4 stars). But it covers the basics, it is convenient, and I actually like it better than my other 3x more expensive Japanese mandoline which is pain in use.

Bought this to make veggie chips. Item had clearly already been used. Box was open but I decided to give it a whirl. Food stuck in blades, missing multiple pieces, oily residue!!!! I would not buy this product this is unsafe. What if I had a deadly food allergy and used an item someone had already cooked with? Not cool. Zero stars.

this obviously is a TV type unit sold to unknowing cooks of what a mandoline is supposed to perform and what is capableof doing. This unit is suitable only slicing solid vegetables eg ( potatoes, carrots, cucumber) and the assembly of the unitis certain to be unsafe in the hands of an amateur user. I used it once and consigned it to the garbage bin.An entirely unsatisfactory product which should be removed from Amazon's range. How about a credit????
