Great book!!
This was such a great book! From their first meet to the end, this love story was a lot of fun and well hiding in the apartment. My heart went out to Kip, he meets a great guy, can't tell a soul they are dating and has to act like he's not the happiest he's ever been in life. You see Scott Hunter, the star of New York's hockey team is gay but not out yet. He's been hiding this secret for a very long time and until meeting Kip, he was good at hiding it.I loved the emotional in this book, the good and bad times throughout this entire book. You see just because things are going well behind closed doors, doesn't mean they will out in the open. Kip was ok with being hidden but then things are going so well between them, that he's having some doubts. While I loved that Kip didn't push him but he does make do the right thing and walk away. I gave him lots of props for this, it isn't easy leaving the one you love but sometimes you just have to see how much they love you. This book was really good with characters you will love! Oh and there's lots of hockey time as well.

Spicy MM Hockey Romance
I really enjoyed reading Scott and Kipās story. Both men were so stuck when the story starts, but the more comfortable they get with each other, the more confident they get in themselves. Scott is a star hockey player, who's closeted and very lonely. Kip is a college graduate who is stuck in a dead-end job. When they get together their chemistry is explosive and they both fall hard and fast.Overall, the story is low-angst, dealing mostly with Scottās fears of coming out and Kip not wanting to have to hide his relationship forever. The two of them are super sweet together and the steamy scenes are super hot. I highly recommend this booky if you enjoy spicy MM hockey romances.

Game Changer
Kip makes dozens of smoothies during a typical work shift, but when the blueberry smoothie he makes for New York Admirals superstar Scott Hunter appears to pull the hockey player out of weeks-long slump, it becomes part of a new ritual for the two of them. Sure, Hunter is super hot, but it doesnāt mean anything⦠does it?Well, dear reader, yes, it does mean something. Scott is gay, but heās in the closet. There are no gay hockey players, so coming out could mean the end of his professional career and everything heās worked for his entire life.Kip and Scott have amazing chemistry, but Kip has never been in a relationship with anyone in the closet, and itās not easy for him to have a boyfriend who he canāt spend time with in public, or even *tell* any of his friends and family about. Rationally, Kip knows that the pressure Scott feels is valid, but itās hard not to take it personally.Kip is absolutely adorableāheās cute and funny and heās so patient and kind with Scott. I wouldnāt necessarily say that meeting Scott serves as the catalyst for him thinking about his career goals, but the timeline overlaps. His retail job helps him save money (as does living at home), but heās thinking about his long-term career goals.Scott has kept a huge part of his life hidden from his friends, and that has to take a toll on his psyche. Heās never had a boyfriend before; his sexual encounters have always been anonymous hookups in foreign countries during the off-season. Having a boyfriend is magical and special and Scott wants more than anything to tell the world about Kip, but he just canāt, so he tries to show his appreciation in other ways, but the gesture isnāt the same as acknowledgement. The feelings in this book are so complicated; theyāre both right, of course, but Scott finds himself faced with a big decision. Kip doesnāt actively pressure him to come out, but itās clear that itās too difficult for Kip to remain in a secretive relationship.Have I mentioned the amazing chemistry? OMG, do these guys work well together.I would absolutely recommend Game Changer.

I swear I skimmed a quarter of this...
I wanna preface this by saying hockey romances are one of my top fave sub genres. I donāt watch the sport, but most hockey romances Iāve read hit a sweet spot for me. That said, Game Changer just...barely worked for me...This book doesnāt feel very welcoming to me as an asexual reader because of the emphasis on sex to have romantic relationship. I can enjoy sex heavy and erotic romances, but I skimmed every sex scene in this book, and there were plenty. One of my favorite scenes, outside of the ending, is when Scott is injured and theyāre not able to have sex because it showed a different kind of fantasy intimacy in Kip caring for Scott, but even that was ruined when Scott said he would āmake upā for not being up for sex.Scott Hunter is a famous New York hockey player who is closeted, in no small part because of the homomisia that runs rampant in sports. His whole world is turned upside down when he meets Kip Grady at Straw+Berry, a smoothie shop, and they begin to spend time together.I swear this had potential, but this really didnāt work for me. The whole relationship seemed based on sex, and when Scott and Kip said they loved each other, I didnāt get warm fuzzies because there didnāt seem to be any emotional connection. It also didnāt help that, because Scott is closeted, they really donāt do much besides spend time alone in Scottās penthouse, which kinda reads a little toxic after a while because Kip becomes isolated due to keeping his relationship a secret and spending all his free time with Scott.I am curious about Ilya, who is MC of sequel so Iāll give it a try, but I am dubious....Overall, this book just didnāt work for me... it had some sweet moments but for the most part the characters were so isolated that sometimes it felt like the only plot was sex and the romance feels twisted in. YMMV.

So sweet!
Scott and Kip are just SO cute and adorable together!!!! I really enjoyed their story. They're not Ilya and Shane, that book is absolute perfection and let's assume it: beating that story is near impossible. Nonetheless, this was a great read and I recommend it. When the "kiss" scene happened though, all I could think about was another scene with an "I'll be there" line from a certain cocky Russian. Ok now I need to go back to Heated rivalry and reread it again for the 3rd time š¤

Game Changer - (Hockey Romance) MM Book 1
This is the second time Iāve read the story of Scott Hunter the Ice Hockey player and his boyfriend Kip, the Smoothie Maker. Still Soooo good second time around.Scott has hidden his sexuality ever since he knew he was gay in his early teens. He had no one to talk to about it and now here he is still hiding from friends, Teammates, in his late twenties. Never had a boyfriend, and he is so wound up that his game on the rink is suffering.Until one day he walks into a Smoothie shop and asks for a Blueberry Smoothie. He canāt take his eyes off the server, Kip. And so this becomes his daily ritual whenever he has a home game in New York. Not only that but his game on the Ice picks up and he is again the star player.Kip is smitten but being the poor student after college with huge student loans still, he doesnāt believe Scott Hunter would be interested in him for long. He is just so happy as the weeks stretch into months and they are still enamoured of each other. Even though the only time they have together is in Scottās penthouse apartment. Never outside.Eventually the stress of this hiding starts to grate with Kip and he feels Scott might be too ashamed to be seen with him as his boyfriend. Plus keeping their secret relationship from his friends, family and colleagues makes Kip feel he is lying to everyone dear to him. Scott stays home when Kip goes out with his friends for drinks or dancing at gay club. They are crazily in love with each other but Kip just explodes in anger and walks out, itās all too much.Scott is devastated and his game suffers just as his Team is heading towards the playoffs for the Stanley Cup. He gets into serious punch ups with opposing players. Somethingās gotta give. And it does in a huge and unbelievable way. Oh, be still my beating heart ā¤ļøš„ā„ļøšš„ā„ļø. Read āGame Changerā first and then grab a copy of āHeated Rivalryā also in this series by Rachel Reid and meet the Russian giant Ilya Rozanov.

Unexpectedš„šššš
First of all, I had never read anything of this author and, read the description, I did not have too many expectations but .... boom! Surprise! This was the novel with the most well-developed data subjects I have ever read. The MCs are well defined, articulated and then there is Scott who deserves a special mention: a gay in the closet that has all the characteristics of the imperfect perfect man. The end of the story is not botched but has an acceptable breath that deserves a sequel.
