Really Helpful & Easy to Understand
I recently read "Sri Devi Mahatmyam - Simplified: Glories of the Feminine God in Hinduism" by Ishwar Joshi Awalgaonkar and found it to be an excellent resource for anyone interested in exploring Hinduism and the worship of the feminine divine. The book provides a simplified version of the sacred Hindu scripture, Sri Devi Mahatmyam, which tells the story of Mahishasura and the Devi's victory over him.I appreciated the author's clear and concise writing style, which makes the text super accessible for readers of all backgrounds. The introduction to the significance of Devi worship in Hinduism and the role of women in the religion is also helpful for any readers who aren’t already knowledgeable on these topics. In summary, I’d highly recommend this book to anyone interested in Hinduism, Devi worship, and the role of the feminine divine in religion. It's a well-written and informative text that provides valuable insights into these important subjects. If you're looking to expand your understanding of Hinduism, this book is definitely worth reading.

Interesting
It’s q book of mythology genre. It’s a short read that can be read in a day or so. This book is for kids but my reason to pick it up because usually I have picked up books for kids and it has better explanation for kids. And I found that more attractive. I am huge fan of mythology genre. But usually I read of Ramayan and Mahabharat. This is the first one I found on this topic. I will briefly summarise my views here. The book consists of several stories or we can say incidents. I can’t discuss everything here as it will lead to spoilers but I will discuss one or two my favourite incidents here that will give you rough idea about the book. The very first incident that I liked the most is, the very first one. The King, Suratha and Samaadhi realised that they both are unhappy. They share similar situations. They approached Rishi Medhas for guidance. Here author introduced Devi and importance of Devi Mahatmayam. Reading or listening to the Devi Mahatmyam will reveal the true nature of Devi over time. Devi Mahatmyam will also help burn away any bad Karma that we may have accumulated in our past lives. My second favourite incident is of Madhu and Kaithaba began praying to Devi in the form of Maha Devi. They both impressed Devi and gained powers. Madhu and Kaithaba, being Daityas, became proud of their newly gained Superpower. They figured that since nobody in the Universe can kill them ever. That causes imbalance in the balance created by Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh. Read the book to know further about such incidents. I loved the book. All the incidents were new for me. I haven’t come across them anywhere. The narration style of the author is captivating. It’s suitable for any age of people. It’s written in lucid language. And yet it’s written in such a way that it will develop vocabulary of the kids. I enjoyed reading it. Good one. Recommended from my side.

Great book
I must say I was a bit lost because I don't know much about the Hindu religion. However, I did enjoy learning about their God's. I would recommend this to more than just children. I believe these stories can help adults like me who isn't too familiar with the Hindu religion learn about it. I also thought it was a good idea to make such a book for kids because that's when you can instill religion, culture and identity into them. I also enjoyed the artwork it was very refreshing.

Learn about the Hindu Feminine God through the story of Shumbha and Nishumbha.
If you are looking for the best way for your kids to know about Devi, then this book is the right choice. Being a religious person, my sister wanted to teach her kids about the great stories of Gods in Hinduism, but they were much more interested in reading their comics. She couldn't gift them any books, being books are sometimes difficult for adults themselves. That is when I came across this book, and I immediately let her know about it and blended my copy with hers. She was delighted after going through it.The great thing is, there is question and answers at the end of each chapter, which will make sure the kids remember the story. The language is kept simple yet compelling, making it the best one for the kids. Great work was done with the illustrations too. Such a huge step by the author, to make sure the little ones know about Shri Devi.
