DaiwaLexa 100 Size Line Counter

Great reel for trout & salmon with line counter. The clicker is lose and needs repair which is a weak point, as my other had the same problem.

LIGHT WEIGHT

I was introduced to this reel by a fishing buddy last summer. I tried it and loved it. I liked it so much I bought 3 more. I'm now thinking of getting another as a spare just in case I need it. With fishing you never know whats going to happen on the boat.We use down riggers as depth is very important when fishing Kokanee. This reel is excellent of the depth shown on the reel versus the depth shown on the down riggers.

Great reel. Caught a lot of fish on it so far however, there is a moisture issue with counter window - condensation forms on the inside of the counter window preventing a clear reading. That said, The counter works well though, no sticking reset button as with Okuma’s.

This reel is great for kokanee. The fast gear ratio is a big plus when reeling in 150 feet of line. The only complaint rhat I have is that the line sometimes stops feeding out as I am trolling. I put a dab of grease on the worm gear and worked it in. That seemed to help a lot but didn't completely solve the issue.I like the reel enough that I bought another in right hand retrieve. I have a friend who bought two after using mine.

I used this reel yesterday for the first time while Kokanee fishing and what an awesome reel it turned out to be. I have three other reels that I use for Kokanee fishing and none of them compare to this one in smoothness. I plan on buying more of this same reel.

This is a well-done reel. Once again, Daiwa has knocked it out of the park. They did not require lube out of the box like most reels. I will state that the line-counter is run by nylon gears, so that will be the first to go. This is not a reel for continuous casting!

Looked like it should out of the box but had a few smudges, then when I spooled up some braid, I noticed a weird feeling, the resistance was not right. The spool and handle are not as easy spinning, and new feeling like it should be, not the drag, or other setting causing this, I tried.This is the 3rd one I've bought, I had to exchange because it was R hand and I needed L-handed.The one I received in exchange DOES NOT feel right, it feels stiff, refurbished, or used. As I've said I've purchased these before and I know what they feel like new.LOOK OUT when purchasing what should be great new reel out of the box because you could be getting something else....
