Add pictures of first setup when I got the light. Plants seem to enjoy creeping to the light. The light has some flaws but not bad. Programming is kinda a pain but after you get it setup it's fine. The default setting works well for a fully planted tank but may cause some algae issues with fewer plants. The light angle is decent but not as good as my other light. I do have to shift the light back once in awhile but that's me being cheap instead of buying 2. I did do alot of changes to my tank but the plant growth has been fast. Co2 and dosing fertilizer.

I love this light honestly. I customized it to mimic a sunset, day, sunrise pattern and it’s beautiful. I use a UV filter along with it so I dont have to worry about algae booms from relatively long hours under a light. My light malfunctioned within the year warranty and they were very quick and helpful to get it replace it and get it working again. I was bummed when it stopped working because I love it so much but within a week it’s up again! Brightness ranges from very soft to pretty intense so it can be whatever you need it to be.

The 18 W light output is great for my 5.5 gallon tank, and a huge improvement over the floor lamp I was using before.I appreciate that the remote stores the programming so it doesn’t get reset if the light is unplugged, especially since I have a custom “DIY mode” program set up. Doing that isn’t nearly as difficult as the reviews here would have you believe. It’s not the most user-friendly process (honestly, just nicer and more responsive buttons would help a lot) but it’s not too hard.The biggest problem I’ve encountered with it has been the included power adapter. Setting the brightness under 10-15% (depending on the color, I imagine because different color LEDs use different amounts of current) causes the power supply to make an awful screeching noise that increases in pitch as the brightness increases until it’s too high for me to hear. I might try buying a nicer one (the included one is 20 V at 2 A, for anyone wondering) and see if it’s better.Also, the remote has a “lightning storm mode” button. It does exactly what you’d expect: the light flashes on bright white for a fraction of a second every so often. Not sure why anyone would ever want this, and I regret pressing it out of curiosity.

The box came a little dinged up, but everything seems to be working just fine. This is a VERY BRIGHT LIGHT, wow! Very intense default settings.I love the customizable 24h "DIY" lighting mode! It is exactly what I was looking for. At first the remote was a little tricky to understand how to program it but once you figure it out it's amazing!

It took a little time to get familiar with the remote, but once I was, it was easy to use this light. There were great options for getting the exact look to the tank that I wanted. I could easily switch between different colors of light (of which there were many) and the brightness. I could make up my own color of light by changing the mix of red/green/blue/white light, and it was easy. The fish look better and more colorful than they ever had under my old light. We varified that after a power hit, the light will eventually remember its programmed timing and light settings, though it might take an hour or so.

WARNING DO NOT BUY THIS LIGHT. Bought this with high hopes as all of my previous hygger lights have worked great in my fish room. This one has already stopped working in one week. The light only occasionally responds to remote control and sometimes follows schedule. Now I have tp to scramble to find a replacement light to save the $200 worth of new plants in my new planted aquarium. Thought the remote upgraded light would be nice but REGRET buying it. Is overly complicated to use and instructions are hard to follow. Now it has completely stopped working properly. Some days it stays on or wont come on. Unplugging and starting over lasts about half a day. Light looks nice and good output when it works but my old hyyger non remote control lights are still going strong. SKIP THIS LIGHT and buy something else

Overall, this light is a good light and will work for most applications. If you are looking for an entry light with a 24/7 lighting cycle, this is a fine choice.Pros:Strong lighting. I only used the custom feature and I found it easy to alter and adjust each lighting period without issue.The unit itself is sleek and low profile.Well built remote control.The sunset and sunrise features are very nice and a great addition competitors do NOT have. Great for sitting and watching your fish for half an hour.Cons:The transformer is attached to the plug which may cause space issues on a surge protector.Using the remote control to turn on the DIY cycle from one of their custom profiles is not intuitive.LED Colors are not uniform.My specific issue with this light is there did not appear to be a smooth transition between lighting profiles as described on this website. It was very abrupt. Also, the led lights themselves are not uniform to each other so it was hard or impossible to create exact lighting profiles.An example would be using the light to create a moonlight effect. Your choices are red, blue, green, and white. The lowest green color setting is very overwhelming, even if you have turned blue to the highest setting before adding the lowest green addition. The entire unit itself seems to lean towards a blue or cooler lighting arrangement if all leds are used on the max setting.

After failed attempts to revive my T5 lighting system after a power outage and knowing full well that manufacturers are phasing T5 systems out of existence, I decided (reluctantly) to give these new fangled LED units a try. These Hygger models are well recieved in all of the reviews I looked at. I chose this model because the remote progammer is not mounted on the light itself. Reviews of those models seemed to be in agreement that they were very sensitive to being moved or bumped, requiring them to be reprogrammed. This unit has 2 default modes just plug and play. Still will have to fine tune when I get a chance!
