Classic English Umbrella in Black

Absolutely the best umbrella money can buy. The craftsmanship is second to none.

This feels and looks handmade and will suit my need for a classy umbrella that will hopefully last for 40 or more years. There was a nice note from the employee who packed my order and was packaged very well, to match the quality of the umbrella itself.

This is a fine piece of kit for the umbrella traditionalist. Meticulously handmade to the highest standards and of the finest materials. Lightweight and beautifully balanced and therefore very comfortable to use, sturdy if taken care of according to the recommendations that come with it, I now look forward to rain because it's an opportunity for me to spend time under my cozy umbrella.I can wish that it was still more sturdily built only because I find the use of a walking stick advantageous at times, and because this umbrella is not designed for that purpose, I sometimes need to carry both my umbrella and my walking stick, which can get a little clumsy at times. But that's no fault of Bucklesbury's; they shipped out to design an outstanding umbrella, not an outstanding umbrella/walking stick.It's nighttime right now and I'm outdoors using my umbrella and waiting for a bus, but I will add photos to my review when possible. Until then, just let it be known that I wholeheartedly recommend this umbrella.

I love everything about this English umbrella. The only thing that gave me this one a 4-star rating is the handle. I wish I could still have this one swapped with the chestnut handle because it was the one I was really looking for. I thought they were the same ones, though.

I especially love the beautiful wood grain on the handle and the way I can hook it over my arm when closed to have my hands free. It is generously sized to provide good protection from the rain and came with a nice storage bag. Makes me not mind rainy days so much!

I bought the Bucklesbury umbrella with a beechwood shaft and maple handle. It seems excellently made. The canopy is very taut; I enjoy hearing raindrops bouncing off it. The wood is nicely finished. Unlike lesser umbrellas I’ve had, it folds up very tightly, which I take to mean it’s fitted very well.The model made of a single piece of chestnut was tempting, but I wasn’t willing to pay the higher price. In the end, I think I got the more practical model, because some Internet research indicated that beechwood is harder than chestnut, so I have the stronger shaft.

A well-made, lovely umbrella that will last for a very long time!

The only overhead cover to own!! If you never owned one of these you are missing a lot! A lor of dryness!!
