Cotton is crisp and cool
Soft cotton material. Pockets of fitted sheet were deeper than needed. Measure depth of mattress to make sure. The queen size fitted sheet was bigger than my queen bed but it did not matter as I needed a set in a hurry for a guest bed. Soft, cool and crisp comes to mind. White and perfect fir summer.

No nerve gas in these attractive, soft, and organic sheets!
Get this. Organic hemp is easy because it grows well without pesticides, and it is inexpensive and easily plentiful. Unfortunately, our laws against hemp are carried too far, which prevent clean organic hemp to be made into clothing (or anything). Yet, cotton, which is plentiful and legal to make into clothing, cannot be grown easily without pesticides. Pesticides, you may ask? How bad is it? You may be terrified to learn that one of the chemicals they spray it with is the same chemical used in nerve gas. (So why all this anti-vaccine hysteria if you are buying product-branded clothing? Cognitive dissonance). Anyway, so if you are seeking truly organic cotton, make sure it has the GOTS certification, as this one does. No pesticides. It's like being FDA-approved, except with textile. It means Global Organic Textile Standard, which not only certifies that manufacturers are using eco-friendly, sustainable techniques but also conducting fair labor practices. OK, sermon over--let's get to the sheets. These are cloud-soft. I always thought organic cotton would be rough--maybe they were in the past. But, these really feel delicate and cozy next to my skin, and that counts for a lot. OK, there is one line of marrow stitching at the edges, very thin to "hemless" sheets and pillowcases, but why do we need to use extra material just because we are conditioned that these embellishments equal correct aesthetics? I kind of like these minimalist edges--in fact, it makes me thing that, counter to the argument that they the designers were pretentious, apathetic or deprived, that instead they wasted nothing, right down to the edges of the sheet set. That was a proactive decision I can respect. OK, off my pulpit again. After washing and tumble drying, they still fit the bed perfectly. The corners on the fitted sheet are deep--I'd rather have that than extra hem (wink* wink*), and the flat sheet is ample for the bed, as are the pillowcases to our king pillows. The color is classy and muted--grey but not dull. I respect this use of textiles and actually like and admire their product. Granola heads, unite! And, by the way, over 30 states have pending legislation on trying to get hemp legal and legislated so we can move on and away to pesticides forever.

not white and not envelope enclosed pillow case
Coming out of the package they were not white. They had a nice brushed hand coming out of the package but I knew that was going to change as soon as they were washed. There's no stitching as far as a hem stitching on the top sheet. It's just a turned over edge. I bought sheets off of Amazon for a lot less than this set cost me that had much nicer detail. Also apparently missed the sale price because I paid $48 for my set and now they're for sale for $37. But the deal breaker for me was they were advertised as having envelope enclosed pillow cases and they are not. I am spoiled to that and I look for that detail when I buy sheets and these do not have that. They washed up predictabably soft. If they are indeed organic long staple cotton they should last a good while. Unfortunately they're not sheets that I'm going to be reaching for on a regular basis. I like to mix and match my sheet sets. Sometimes I like a lighter feeling top sheet. I will not be able to mix and match this set.

Bedding for the eco-conscious consumer, but some issues
I tried these because I'm trying to use more environmentally friendly products. I was going to give these sheets a 5 star review, until I woke up recently to find the pillow case faded out like it had been bleached, and all I did was sleep on it. All I can think of is it reacted to some acne cream I put on my face the night before. Even though by the time I went to sleep, it had dried and absorbed into my face several hours before. So, that means when using and washing the sheets, you need to be very careful. They are very soft, but I would not buy another set because I don't want to worry that happening again. The EcoPure Comfort Wash Sheet Set is made using 100% GOTS certified organic cotton, and non-harmful, Oeko-Tex approved dyes & finishes. It must be that the dyes and finishes are delicate. The webpage says the fabric has been garment washed for a more relaxed look and feel. Not sure how sheets look "relaxed," but the colors are very subtle and easy on the eyes. The fitted sheet has all-around elastic for a secure fit, and the flat sheet and pillowcase(s) have marrow stitching on the edges. The stitching makes it hard to determine which side goes at the head of the bead at first. I do like the fit of the sheets. The fitted sheet has not come off my bed like some others I own. I have another set of environmentally friendly sheets I like better, even though they cost double of these.

Finally, an actual COTTON sheet set
I was sick of ordering 'cotton' sheets and getting microfiber or a cotton/poly mix. These ARE cotton. They keep me cool at night. Comfortable and am very happy with my purchase.
