How do they feel?
I really like these shoes. However, I assumed I would need a wide width size and should have ordered a medium width. They're very sturdy shoes. The shoes strings are way longer than they should be so that's a nuisance but I would recommend. (just replace the shoe strings! lol)

Comfortable right out of the box.
These shoes were comfortable right out the box. Roomy enough to accommodate both sets of insoles that were included. I have ordered wide width from other manufacturers and found them to be snug, needing a significant time to break in. These shoes are comfortable enough to get me through an 8+ hour work shift. I highly recommend them.

Great shoes--comfortable and long lasting.
I originally purchased these shoes at a full service orthopedic shoe store, so I know I got the right size, and I wear them with a specific orthotic. That being said, these shoes have been wonderful for me. Before I got them, I had constant foot and knee pain. Now my feet hurt no more than the rest of me. (Different story!) I have gone through two pair of the white (daily), one pair of black (weekly) in the last few years. This last pair of white saw heavy duty wear, with a lot of activities this past year, and daily use. They are giving out now, having "only" lasted 13 months. The stitching on one side is coming loose. The tread is visibly worn. Since that works out to around $11 a month, I'll let it go. Pros: The shoes have good depth and are comfortable with various thicknesses of socks even with a specialty orthotic. I like being able to lace them up tight, with the offset top hole allowing me to snug up my ankle. The style is neutral enough to wear under many circumstances. The tread has been fine for everything I need around the house/yard/town/park. The only thing they are not up for is hiking on rocky trails or where you need heavy traction. Cushioning is sufficient to conquer my arthritis. These shoes reversed the mobility restrictions I was starting to just live with. Once I get them on in the morning, it is like having on foot armor to face the day.Cons: the original laces were round and too stiff. They kept coming undone. I replaced them with flat laces that would stay put. As noted above, I chose lace-up to have the flexibility they offer--you can snug up your foot just right. But once they are on, you have to really pull on those laces and loosen them up to get the shoe off. This is expected given how snug you can pull them--just be aware of it.

Toe box narrower than expected
Although these shoes are good quality, I was disappointed that the toe box was not roomier since I ordered wide shoes. It is my toes that need the extra width.

Too hard for my feet
I have very sensitive feet (diabetic) so when I took out all of their insoles and put my orthotic in it was too hard and not enough room for both. Well-made shoe though

Good Quality
I ordered these shoes for my mother, but they were too narrow for her foot. The shoes are good quality & I have purchased shoes from Dr. Comfort for many years. I only wished they still made the style, "Laura." I was much more comfortable that the Patty.

Size runs a bit large
A very well made shoe, especially for arthritis. For me though, the leather is a bit too stiff and the Patty doesn't fit as true to form as Dr. Comfort's Wave.
