Unfortunately, China. But I didn't find that out til I saw the labels on the packages

Q: does the bottom sewn edge have a pocket?

No it does not, but I love the curtains

Q: If it is thermal insulated,does it have the white backing material on the back?

No there is no thermal backing on the curtains. They are semi shear. You get some light but they are not totally see through. I love the ones I got. The design is awesome and gives a lot of color and dimension to my room. I would buy them again.
