Easy to customize.
The Noctua air cooler is one of the very few that claims to be able to handle the Threadripper, and it does so handily. My current rig is a 12 core 24 thread 1st generation chip, and it idles right around 20c with this unit. It comes with extra hardware, so you can add another 120mm fan in a push-pull arrangement, or replace both with ARGB fans or higher flow rate fans with simple to use spring clips. It also has rubber angle bushings on the corners of the fan and an extra set for an additional fan. The fan connector is standard, but it also has an extension that allows it to fit on either 3 or 4 pin headers. It fits in a Lian Li standard mid tower case with a tempered glass side panel, and the heat pipe ends do not touch the glass. The original fan was whisper quiet, and the included thermal paste is high quality. The hardest stress I've put on it so far is the reboot of DOOM with all settings maxed out, and the core temp never exceeded 38c.

So quiet, small and cool. WOW
Ok, I used to have one of those huge and loud Cooler Master AMD Wraith Ripper. Get this one. This heat sink is way quieter, it's keeping my 2950X at 33C, I never saw it this low! Best of all it doesn't fight with the GPU for space. I'm blown away (pun not intended). I should have bought this brand long ago. I also paired it with another fan for a push-and-pull configuration and it's still quieter than the Cooler Master. It doesn't have LED lights which is perfect for me.

NOT 4U Compatible.
Tried this cooler in 4 different 4u server cases, it does not fit in any of them, it is 5-10mm too tall for all of them, to include popular ones from Rosewill and Chenbro. Thankfully it will fit in my tower that will be upgrading to a Epyc system shortly. So not a waste and will not have to return but disapointed that it will not fit in a 4u like some others have said it can. From testing in an open Rosewill case, due to it being too high to put the lid on, but still tested as best as can be and comparing it to a NH-U9 TR4-SP3, in the same case with the same fan profiles, both with the same fan setup, single fan blowing through heatsink. It does run about 2c cooler under load and about 1c cooler at idle, both keep the 7551p Epyc under 55c even when under max cpu load. the U12s makes a bit less noise and would be a great option if putting it in a case that works, sadly not a 4U with out case mods.

It's a Noctua.
Can't fault it. Works great. Keeps a 64 core Epyc quiet and cool.

I was very surprised by this solution
I bought this as a temporary solution to a faulty Enermax TR4 360 water cooling system. To my surprise the temperatures are idling around 31 to 34 in my case. I am so pleased with the results that I decided to keep this cooling my 1950x. I don't overclock my systems therefore this is perfect for me. I have an Asus Zenith Extreme so this is a good option because Asus decided to go against the standard layout thus having less distance between the top pcie slot.Overall this is far better than I expected. It not load at all and is barely noticeable. Installing is easy and it comes with all you need.

More than enough to cool my 1950x
My Enermax AIO completely failed recently, so I decided to go with this cooler after reading some reviews. I was a little worried because the AIO didn't do a super great job of handling the heat, but this cooler works great at stock speeds. My idle temperatures are lower than they were with the AIO and it's quieter as well. Five stars!

This is a great quality product
Purchased for a Threadripper 2920X. Will keep the processor cool ( 12 core ) without overclocking. I would not set the CPU to PBO either. It is JUST enough to keep the 2920 stock completely happy - no throttling and fairly quiet. I purchased a second fan in push pull arrangement. I give the quality 5 stars but the cooling is 4 stars. The larger NH-U14S-SP3 Would allow for overclocking if that is what you are looking for, but my case couldn't handle the height of that cooler. I am Super happy with this air cooler. Great quality and fairly quiet. No risk of AOI leaking. This should last the life of your PC, so get the cooler you need - anything larger than TR 2920x - go for the Larger 14S

Highly impressed & a Noctua fanboy for life
Works very well when non overclocked. The heat sink becomes saturated faster but also cools faster compared to water, essentially less lag in temps. I'm seeing 68c for the max average for occasional heavy workloads, with an idle average of around 38c which is only slightly warmer than water. Gaming averages around 52c. This is all perfect for an air cooler.
