Bought this for my GF (she's 5'5") and the 20" tires are a good fit for her height. Put over 40 miles on it so far from 4 different trips (mostly on the beach or rocky dirt trails through the woods) and haven't had any issues yet. Rode over some very rough terrain (sharp shells, rocks, tree roots, gravel, branches, etc) and the tires have held up well w/no signs of leaking.Overall a great bike for the price w/plenty of power to get through rough patches. Really fun to ride, there were times where we would leave a trail and just start blowing through the woods creating our own trails. It really opens up a lot of options for terrain in general that would be too tough to do on a regular mountain bike not to mention you're going to be able to cover a lot more distance w/the pedal assist (got it up to 27mph on a straight residential road using pedal assist 5).The toughest test of the bike was when we ended up on a muddy trail w/deep tire ruts filled w/water. There were a couple 10-20ft long stretches where we were forced to lift our legs and just throttle down to get through it. Not ideal for an ebike and definitely gave it a hard wash when we got back, but glad it has that kind of power when I need it and the battery stayed dry.Our longest trip was 22 miles long with 16 of those on the beach. It was high tide when we arrived at the beach so we were forced to ride the first 8 miles in softer sand closer to the dunes. The softer sand drained the battery by 35%, but w/the tide going out on the way back those same 8 miles only burned 20% when riding on harder-packed sand closer to the water. Always try to go closer to low tide if you can and you also have more room to maneuver around people.As far as assembling, it's not hard, but better to watch the instruction videos on Velowave's site vs. using the paper instructions that had incorrect wording for one of the steps.Will come back and update review if I have any issues, but so far so good!

My e-bike arrived sooner than expected. The foam packing was an awesome way to protect the bike during shipping. It was easy to assemble. I took it for my first ride after assembly. Unfortunately, I could not peddle the bike more than one turn. I had my left knee replaced 6 weeks ago and it did not like bending as much as was necessary. I did take it for a ride only using the electric mode. I really like the thumb throttle better than the half-turn throttle. It is very powerful. The bike was very comfortable. I like the height of the handlebar. I can't wait to be able to use the peddle assist. Excellent bike. The only negative is that I believe that the rear rack should be included with the bike.

I’m 4’11 and this bike is perfect fit for me! It’s FAST!! Love the option of pedal assist or throttle. Battery life is great. Sooo much fun!!

Hello, we bought this ebike for my wife and she really likes it, it's a step through profile which is great,the fat tires is perfect to ride on beaches.The 750 watts motors is more then enough, lots of power, this bike looks and rides great.We recommand buying it.Costumer service is great, Thanks Susie

The bike rides very smooth. The battery lasts longer than expected. The bike feels heavier than expected. We are experiencing some brake squeaking. We are working on it. Assembly was easy we would recommend this bike to others.Vellowave sent me replacement pads but I have not installed them yet

Only had it a few days. So far I really like it. It is the Velowave Pony. I am 5'2" and it fits me great. It has a lot of power so far. Look forward to taking it down to FL and riding on the state park trails.Edit: have had the bike for several months and still like it a lot.
