Great Questions and Challenges
This book is wonderful. Selena is raw and lets you in on her good and not so good habits with her husband. She challenges you to be a better wife by pursuing your husband in simple ways. This book changes perspectives and helps you open up and get closer with your spouse. Definitely worth doing them set together, but also a great challenge on your own.

Wonderful book
This is a great book to challenge you to love your husband in the good times and the hard times. It gives you practical tools to work with and creative ideas! I bought this book at a time when my husband was very busy working and studying and I didn’t know how to encourage him. This book helped shape a different view of my husband from a Scriptural standpoint as well as gave me things to do during his busy season. I could see his demeanor change as I looked for ways to encourage him daily in the Lord.Disclaimer: this book is NOT for wives in an abusive situation whether physically, emotionally, or mentally. YOU do not need to be doing more and more. You need help and please don’t seek it through a “love your husband” book but through a licensed counselor.

Amazing book - so glad I bought it
My husband and I purchased the husband and wife books, and decided to take the time to work on our marriage. It was the BEST decision ever. These books were so helpful with great insights, ideas, Bible verses about marriage, and just the idea of pursuing the other one like we did while dating. It's funny how quickly you fall into patterns, and life, and kids, and stress happens...and then you stop pursuing your spouse. This was very helpful in getting us both to focus on the other one, and to build a stronger marriage. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Easier if you don't have kids
This book is a great devotional and I do recommend it. The devotionals are solid, relatable, and Biblically based. Most of the pursuit challenges just require time and some effort, and they do bring you closer together. There are "Heads-Up!" notices if you have a big challenge coming up, but I think there should be more of those notices. There are several pursuit challenges, such as special dinners or recreating your first date, require more than a morning's notice to accomplish. This is especially true if you have children, as there is no mention of what you are supposed to do with them.It seems the authors assume a lot of things:That you have1) No plans, ever2) No kids, or3) family in town, or4) close friends, or5) reliable sitters, plus money to pay them6) that any of these three can watch your kids on less than a day's noticeHOWEVERI personally think it's ok to plan out these pursuit challenges for the next few months, if you can't make them happen all in the first 31 days. It's not so much that these are impossible challenges, they just may not be possible for everyone to accomplish in one month. There is also a great list of date ideas in the back of the book, for inspiration! In the end, you have to keep in mind that your love is not measured by this checklist of things to do for your husband. If you do try, but cannot accomplish it in 31 days, it doesn't mean you don't love him "enough", or you're not committed enough to him. The point of this study is to appreciate each other and spend time together in meaningful ways. For example, my husband and I are having trouble with Pursuit #11: finding a totally new experience that neither of us have done before...because we've had a variety of experiences together already, and he's got bad knees, so that really limits what we can go out and do. However, we started doing the crossword from our local newspaper together, as an enjoyable, non-screen activity (Pursuit #3).

Be prepared to make some time- and to grow!
We love the husband and wife challenges and have gotten a lot out of these books! I can relate to the author very well. Frederick makes great suggestions; however, we have two small children and live in rural Montana, so some of the pursuits are difficult for us to complete. I imagine for most people this would not be the case! I highly recommend reading these with your husband; we've grown closer and learned things about ourselves and each other by completing the pursuits to the best of our abilities.
