labelling issues

First off, I am a pro player and I know (for me) when I break a string it usually means I need a fresh set. I buy bulk strings in all the gauges I use so if I break one during a set, I can make it through the rest of the gig/rehearsal without breaking into a set of my 12-15 dollar Elixirs. That said, these strings are crazy inexpensive, I haven't put one on yet, but if the gauging is accurate they should be fine, I'm only looking to get maybe a couple of hours life out of them. They come individually sealed, which is a huge plus, because who knows how long they'll be sitting in my gig bag when there's 20 of them. I bought .011s, which are labelled "E - 1st." Thing is, I'm using a mixed light gauge set on electric, so they're actually B - 2nd. So I had to go through all 20 and use a sharpie to cross it out and correct it. Also, the cardboard box they come in does not indicate which gauge (or number) the are, so I put white tape on it and sharpie again. There is a loose guide on the back of the box that indicates what gauge to use on different string instruments. The lettering is black and the background is dark grey, so you have to hold it right up to a light to read it. For anyone reading this intending to use them as replacements on a set that's a year and a half old and save a few bucks: just buy a whole decent set. You can get cheap strings, you don't have to pay what I do. And make sure you look up a YouTube video on how to put them on correctly! When I was teaching I saw so many messed up tuning posts. The strings on a guitar do not last like the strings on a piano... just swallow hard and spend the 5 bucks... good luck!

Good Deal, 20 high E srtings!!

So glad I found these 11 ga high E strings, in bulk !!! Saved my bacon after I tried up tuning my Tele copy to F like Luther Perkins, and the 1st E discombooberated itself !!! Hate, having to buy another whole string set, just for another high E string!!! It stayed intact when I strung it up to F, and sounds good too! Plus, I have plenty more if it happens again!! Had always hoped to find a multi 1st E string set, now we have!!

Good value - stock up on parts that break

I just started playing and knew it would be good to have a spare tire on a long trip. Rather, a spare set of strings. Found out that high E breaks the most often. Having bulk backups of my most replaced individual string is great. I don't have the chops to state whether or not they are 'bright' or 'dull' or how long they last compared to other brands.
