Great Book About Philippine Culture
Bought this book to read in my son’s 3rd grade class. They absolutely loved it and the kids were very interested in learning more about the Filipino culture.

Cute Filipino book
My little 5-year-old loves this book. I was born and raised in the Philippines so this book is a nice way of helping my child learn about his Filipino heritage. I married an American so my child is only half Filipino but I'm determined to teach him Tagalog for when we visit Pinas. He already knows some Tagalog words and phrases but I'd like for him to be fluent someday.

Astounding!
It’s interesting but the 6 year old kids got confused using bread as names of people. But the lessons about culture and food is amazing!

Teachers of Filipino students: this a must
In wanting to diversify my classroom, I wanted to make sure my Filipino students were represented as well. This book has a wonderful message to go along with it, and my students loved picking out the things they could relate in it. Great book!

A Filipino children’s story but anyone can read it!
A bilingual English and Tagalog story about a girl called Pan de sal, who learns to appreciate being herself. It’s a perfect story for those who are having culture identity issues and this book highlights it in its own adorable way

ok
Nice concept. However, children may not have the attention span to get through this book .

Not appropriate for preschool or young children
The book has a lot of self loathing purely based on the colour of her skin, facial features, and class status.More appropriate for a tween that might be struggling with that. Not so much for younger children that haven't been exposed to those concepts yet.
