Customizable and convenient post-birth care!
These cold packs are great because you can customize the sizing to fit your needs, by simply cutting apart the segments on each sheet. The prep process is a little involved - you have to soak the sheets in clean filtered water until the segments have reached full absorption (about 15 minutes), then pat them dry, and place them in ziplock bags or Tupperware, and stick them in the freezer for at least an hour before use. I did this with all ten sheets upfront, using a clean liter sized water bottle and soaking 3 sheets at a time, then refilling the water as needed until all ten were ready to freeze. Then I laid them on a clean hand-towel, patted them dry, and placed two sheets a piece inside one ziplock freezer bag. They were ready for use in just over an hour...I realized after the first use that I only needed one segment for an effective icing treatment, which is great because I’ll get 40 uses rather than just 10. In most post-vaginal birth icing treatments I think you’ll find one or two segments will suffice. The segments stay frozen for about 10-15 minutes once applied. Which is nice because you can rest and even fall asleep without worrying about keeping track of the time! One thing to note is that these can’t be applied flush against your skin/tissue...you need to cover them. The package references disposable covers that you can insert the ice packs into for use, but I hadn’t purchased them...so I improvised and used the flushable bathroom wipes (made by Cottenelle or Preparation H) and rolled the segments inside one wipe before applying, which worked great. You would NOT want to use a paper towel or face tissue since they would most likely stick to your skin!If you’re icing around the clock, every 2-4 hours, and using just 1-2 segments at a time, one set would last you maybe 3 days. You’re better off having more than you need ready-to-use prior to returning home from the hospital...plus they are versatile so it won’t hurt to have them on hand for other first aid needs in the future!

Really thin
I wish these were more substantial. They're so thin, they only stay cold for a few minutes.

Good Product
Just know that you fill these with water yourself and place into the freezer.

Not good for after birth
Love them they are the closest thing to the ones you get after delivery in the hospital but was kinda disappointed they were not the actual pads and we had to make or buy something else to make them work like a pad!!!

Exactly what I needed
These were an absolute god send! I prepared them in advance and kept them in the freezer before I went in to hospital. Once home, I used these when needed and am still doing so now. I definitely recommend purchasing these to any ladies out there about to give birth.
