Compelling, Disturbing Read
Boreman and her co-author did such an amazing job of really illustrating how quickly and wholly a person can be broken. It was so shocking but also so easy to understand how it happened when you read his total control, taking even the most minute control from her--sleeping on top of her even, making her ask permission to go to the bathroom, coming in with her when she did. A young girl being told she is garbage and nothing, being used like trash, brutalised daily and in the most soul crushing ways possible. Pretty soon there is nothing but trying to survive to the next minute. People who don't understand or think she should have run away or at least not tried to lessen the abuse by smiling and doing what she was told obviously entirely lack an understanding of how fear and degradation work to break a person. The book moved quickly and was well-written and gave a complicated and horrifying story as direct a telling as possible.

Raw, graphic, and shocking.
The horrors this woman went through are indescribable, though she does it well. The fact that she came out of this nightmare alive, able to have a family and a somewhat normal life speaks for her incredible strength. I myself cannot begin to imagine what brainwashing or Stockholm Syndrome is like. I've been lucky enough in life to never be in a situation where I would find out, but I do know that they are real and every single day countless young women are victims of it.Those of us that have young women in our lives need to teach them the signs, the red flags, what to look for, what to do, and how to get out ... to do our best to give them the knowledge that will keep them away from the deviant and depraved men that treat women this way. This is a book I would recommend, to let them learn from others just how bad it can get, instead of them learning for themselves. The Chuck Traynors of the world will always be there to exploit and destroy, because so often there are no repercussions for their actions. Changing that is the only way to make it stop.

Insane
I found this book because I wanted to know why some women become pornstars. This book kept me on the edge of my toes and broke my heart how cruel humans can treat one another.

Hard to Read but Essential
A gritty, uncomfortable but unwavering account of a horrific life endured by Linda. While much of it is very disturbing to read I believe it's an essential read to get a true inside account of a victim of sex trafficking, domestic violence, and unfortunately much more. I hope the last years of her life were worlds away from the haunting years written here.

Wow!
I watched the movie about Linda Lovelace recently and just had to read the book. I just can't believe someone could go through all that and come out to have. Somewhat normal life. I envy her, I feel bad for her, but most of all admire her strength.

Awesome read
I recall the first time I ever heard of Deep Throat and then later the first time I saw the movie. It was good to read about the other side of the situation. It is a shame Chuck Traynor wasn't punished for his crimes.

This book made me so sad.
This book is not for the faint of heart. It’s sad, very detailed in the horrible time that Linda went through in her life and very graphic. I’m so sad that this happened to her and also A very eye opening read.

Powerful book!
This book was so honest and open. Linda told her story and did not hold back. This are not always what they seem and people not always who they seem to be. Linda's story illustrates this. A great read!

Speechless
If you don’t read this and want to hug Linda and just look after her then there is something wrong! My heart hurt reading this and my brain cannot comprehend what is actually human evil. She was a survivor and what a story, really worth the read.

Fantastic if very disturbing book. Thank god she got away.
A page turner that will have you wanting to put your hand through the pages and rescue Linda and save her from more pain and degradation. Definitely not a book that sponsors porn in any way. Well written and shocked me to the core. I just wish she had more time to enjoy the good times.

A shocking read
Gee what can I say - I really didn't have a clue what to expect when I read this. I was gripped by this book but at the same time I was shocked and felt deeply emotional whilst reading it. I almost wish I had not read it at times and felt further sadness when I further researched Linda Lovelace and found that her short life ended in tragedy.

Brilliant!!!!
I bought this book after watching the movie Lovelace. I wanted to know more, I found it terribly disturbing the thought that people get excited about a person who starred in a porno, about how awful they feel about the fact she did it because she had too. I think deep throat should be deleted and every movie she was forced to be in, because it's basically condoning rape to watch these. Truly disturbing and I only hope that this stuff is wiped out that these folk who make and star in these things are doing so because they have chosen to and not forced.

Sad, shocking yet very courageous
I was interested to read this book after seeing all the adverts for the new film about linda lovelace. It was sad and hugely shocking what this poor young woman experienced. Her story is simply told and I rooted for her and her survival of the brutality she lived through. I would recommend it as it provides an alternative perspective from what many people probably think when they hear her name.
