The Screw Tab Cap or table cap PVC fitting is useful any place you want to secure pipe to a surface. Three tabs with screw holes come out from the caps. These are strong when pulling straight out from the attached surface but they are weaker when side to side pressure is applied. Some people use them for mounting a small table to the end of PVC pipe. The outlet is a non-threaded socket and is compatible with furniture grade PVC pipe or standard PVC pipe from a hardware store.

Unique Use of This Table Cap
A few weeks ago I purchased a new Oral B electric toothbrush from Amazon. The toothbrush works fine, but the design of its handle is such that it could easily tip over because it tapers down towards its base. So, I bought this table cap, cut a 4" piece of scrap 1-1/4" PVC pipe, stuck it into the table cap, and I now have a very firm sleeve and base in which to store the toothbrush.
