Sweet Like Poison: A College Romance (Savage U) Paperback – August 13, 2022

I've been waiting for Elena's story for what feels like forever, lol. While this story is a Standalone, we first met her in Start A Fire. She wasn't nice and I hated her. Her journey from Bully/Villian to super cool chick that I want as my best friend is one of my favorites. I love that while she's no longer terrorizing innocent souls, she was still her unapologetic, badass self. Just using her evil for good! 😂🤣 Lacklan Kellly, good lord what a man, perfect for Elena, and it goes to show even nice big protector men can cause pain too. That sometimes doing what they think is right doesn't mean it is it that they're not trying to cover their own fears. Lock and El's journey is beautiful and painful. And I can't help but love a man you enjoys the prickly pears! I love that Elena still kept hold of who she was and never shyed away from that. I love that Lock never tried to change her but enjoyed her as she is! Another great book by Julia. Thank you Julia for giving me the honor of receiving an ARC of this book!

Their story was so sweet with a side a heartbreak. He tries to keep his distance because he's not sure he likes her. She provokes him because she needs a reaction. When they finally get together, it's like fireworks, so hot, so beautiful to watch, captivating.My only grouse is I think it was too long and drawn out

I LOVED this book! Elena is SO relatable! Loch is AMAZING! Watching these characters develop and grow made me laugh and cry. I LOVE seeing all the previous characters returning!

I fell in love with Lachlan when I read Saoirse’s story (yes, I’m reading out of order) and I was super excited to find that he had a book of his own. And oh, what a book! Lock is grumpy, growly, and a smokin’ hot giant, while Elena is a reformed mean girl who has so much baggage she should be crushed, but she stands strong and gives the world the finger, as a woman should. They are fabulous and so hot together it will melt your Kindle. Definitely a must read!

One of my favorites for sure. I keep falling in love with all these characters. It's hurting saying goodbye to some who no longer pop up in the stories. I will definitely be rereading most of these. Elena and Locks story was truly not anything I expected. I loved it so much, I knew I would enjoy this when Lock popped up in Helen's story and seeing more of Elena's growth through Zadies I knew it would have it's huge ups and downs but it was magical. Seeing how even the toughest person needs someone to be comfortable enough to just be there. I highly recommend it.

I came rushing back to read this series after reading Lachlan's sister's story. I needed to know this Spans character. I'm glad I came back to it because it gave me more insight into Lock, and his past and in doing so, it filled in the newest book.The writing style wasn't as dynamic and polished as the new book. I'm going to chalk that up to her not having the polished style because she was lacking the expertise. I still enjoyed going back and reading about Elena and Lachlan. Especially, Elena.

I absolutely loved this book. This whole series is amazing. But when I found out Elena is getting her own book after reading Bright Like Midnight I knew it would be a fun crazy ride.Getting a look inside Elena's life was something I didn't expect. She was strong, sassy, stubborn, and very to the point. She didn't sugar first much lol. Lachlan was built like a hot lumberjack. He has such a good heart and wanted to fix it all. I loved his determination thru this book. I enjoyed their back and forth, the angst, the jabs they both sent to each other.I so can't wait for the next book!!! If this is a new author to you I recommend starting with Start A Fire in the Savage Crew series!!! These can be read as standalones but I love binge reading and rereading this series and the Savage Crew series.

I love all her stuff but I loved the steadiness of the mcm in this! And I was invested right away in this couple!!

Acabei de ler toda a série Savage U e confesso que esse foi meu favorito! Eu queria muito saber a história de Lock e Elena. Ela é uma pessoa difícil de se gostar, especialmente depois de ler Savage Crew em que ela fazia bullying com os outros, divulgou fotos da amiga pelada entre outras coisas. É importante ter lido todos, inclusive a série que antecede essa para entender quem Elena era e quem ela é agora e o que motivou sua mudança de atitude. Nada do que aconteceu com ela foi sua culpa nem ela merecia. Só que as festas refletir e tentar melhorar. Ela continua tendo impulsos de descontar nos outros as coisas, mas ela entende de onde vem e se controla. O Lock vacilou com a Elena em mais de um momento, mas ele soube correr atrás e ser obstinado quando preciso reconquistar.

I love a story that gives new light to a character who was a villain. Elena was quite horrible in her HS years and no, there was no grand ephinany changing her. She still could be a snarky, take no prisoners b*^ch but we also see her other sides and she is awesome. Julia Wolf is also great at hero's who can be so swoonworthy but also sometimes you want to hate or at least smack. Lachlan had his moments but overall I love these two together. Super excited for Julien's story next.

I have been dying to read Elena's story from the Savage crew books, and my Lord, this book did not disappoint!!!Elegant was known as the stonefaced cow who did whatever she needed to get on top to hell with everyone......until we saw things weren't exactly as they seemed.Nate Bergen got exactly what he deserved!!!The sexual tension between Lachlan, the giant protector, and Elena is off the scale from the very beginning, and when they give in its absolutely electric.2 young adults with way too many family ties and commitments that drag them down and stop them living their lives the way they should be.2 families that completely affect the behaviour and mental health of not only Elena and Lachlan but the entire family.Elena is a bad ass through and through, and it's evident in the way she puts herself in danger to protect and the people that she cares for, and when she cares, she cares wholeheartedly.I love everything about this book. 100% recommend book and author.Getting right into Julian's book and I can't wait.

Very Julia! I like the back and forth. I like the dignity with which each characters behaves even in tines of adversity.

These characters were top tier. I’m a real sucker for well-written MC’s, and this book has all that and more. Just two flawed, beautiful people with off-the-charts chemistry thrown together to see what comes from it.Spoiler alert, it was me.Elena was simply the GOAT at all times in my opinion, ESPECIALLY during her pettiest moments. I loved it, was there for it the whole way. Also, Lock is now my official book boyfriend, but don’t tell her that (she will literally tear a hole through the fabric of reality to slap a b****).5 stars straight up for the spice — *insert chef’s kiss emoji here*. Simple yet incredibly satisfying and ALL throughout the book, which was a lovely change of pace I sincerely hope my girl J-Wolf keeps up.Side characters and story were perfect. Not enough drama to take attention away from our MC’s but juuust the right amount to keep you interested. That’s all I ask of life, really.Look this might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it more than ticked all my boxes so you’ll have to excuse me while I go devour every book this author has put out for the next month or so.Till next time!
