Updated review - great iron & customer service!
Update 8-9-19:I have continued to use the original iron with no further shredding of the handle. I notice they are selling a different iron so my update may no longer be relevant. I have used it at home and away at quilting retreats for almost a year & a half. It is a great iron! Stays hot, is a little work horse! I use it with an ironing pad & silicone mat at my kitchen bar. It is small, lightweight, handy for pressing quilt pieces, and portable for traveling! I hope the new design works as well as mine!! Sellers are really great - great customer service! I purchased this iron April 23, 2018. I didn't use it much until last week when I went to a quilters retreat. I used it daily for 4 days. The grey trim around the top handle is beginning to shred. Maybe it isn't designed for this kind of use? Just want potential buyers to be aware, especially quilters.*******UPDATE*******8-30-18 - Seller immediately contacted me and offered to send a replacement. They said they would contact the factory with my photo of the handle and make sure the material will not shred, that it must have been an anomaly. Very pleased with the customer service. The reason I upgraded to only a 4 (from a 3) is because the handle material shredded. It shredded where the inside of my thumb contacted the handle as my hand moved the iron on the fabric seams. (I use my regular larger iron to press the fabric yardage.) The iron itself works great and I have been very pleased with it. If the replacement iron handle material holds up better, I will change the rating to a 5. Customer service is really great! Perhaps the use of the iron by quilters is more than use by infrequent "travel". But the material should hold up better, I think.

Great little unit!
I recently spend six weeks with my daughter helping out with some after care following cancer surgery. Since I didn't want to pay for more than one checked bag, I decided not to bring an iron because it would eat up a lot of suitcase space. Since I was packing for 6 weeks, I wanted as much room as possible in my suitcase.I called my daughter and asked her if she had an iron. Her response was "I have a dryer." I laughed, then ordered this little gem and had it shipped directly to my daughter's house. It's small, about the size of a palm sander, and feels the same as a palm sander in your hand. It heated very quickly and knocked the suitcase wrinkles out of my clothes in a hurry. I was pretty impressed with this little unit.I left it behind because I didn't need it at home, but I told my daughter to keep it on the shelf in the closet so that when other people come to visit (she lives in Vegas - funny how people are motivated to visit when you live in a "vacation destination") they would have an iron.I'm ordering another one so I have this little guy for travel when suitcase space isn't limited. That's how much I liked it.

Tiny and light so perfect for travel
I haven't really tried the iron yet, but it got hot when I turned it on. The only design flaw I see right now is the voltage switch. You need to use a pen to slide it between settings and it is hard to be sure that you have done it correctly. Also the box says that it should have come with a mesh protector, but it was not in the box. I'm actually not sure what that is. However, the pros are: the iron is indeed tiny and lightweight but has a very long cord; it has a measuring cup for the water, so you don't put too much water in and overflow onto the electrical controls; and it has a useful carrying case and useful instructions. The package arrived in the time promised. My reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is really based only on the voltage control switch, which I think should be redesigned so that you can manipulate it with your finger.

this iron does an excellent job of getting the wrinkles out in a short ...
I don't usually post Amazon reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised with this. I previously had a travel steamer that didn't work very well. I left it with a relative after a wedding, so I was in need of a new one. This little guy has some weight to it, and its construction seems solid. It's not cheap plastic. For as small as it is, it pumps out a ton of steam and it actually WORKS. For a short two day trip, I had to pack a military dress uniform, a suit, and some dress shirts for each. As long as you pack properly, this iron does an excellent job of getting the wrinkles out in a short period of time. Contrary to some of the other reviews, I never had to refill the iron in the middle of steaming. I was able to steam out the wrinkles of all of those clothing items on one filling. I don't understand how 2 ounces lasts so long, but it does.My only minor gripe is that it seems to take a long time to cool down. This could be a problem if you have to use the iron and then throw it back in a suitcase to quickly run to a meeting or the airport.

It is NOT a steamer. It is a steam IRON.
Unfortunately, this item was not what I was looking for. I assumed incorrectly, by the ad saying it was a steamer iron, that it could also be used as a 'steamer.' The steam is not a continuous spray, and is designed to be used as a 'burst' effect while actually ironing. If this is what you need, then you will be fine with it. Just don't expect to hang up your clothes and 'steam' the wrinkles out. It was certainly compact enough to make traveling with it easy, although it did seem a bit heavy for the small size of it. Also, it seemed to take quite a long while for the iron to cool off enough to repack. If what I needed was a small iron, I would have kept it.

No on/off button, no heat controls, iron does not stand upright, no stand to prop it up
Iron does not have a on/off button, to turn it on and off you have to plug in/out of electric socket; it does not have heat temperature controls (i.e. low/med/high), it just has one temperature, hot! The iron does NOT stand upright, there is only one position in between ironing and for cooling down and that is face down. The user manual says place iron on "stand" to cool down, however there is no stand that comes with the iron, there is a rubber mat that comes with the iron however the iron gets very hot and I am reluctant to place the iron on the rubber mat to cool it down, instead I prop it upright on the edge of a flower pot. I do not recommend this iron because it does not have some basic features you would expect in a travel iron..

Recieved defective product
Bought this steamer for a trip, compact size and weight made it appealing for something I could bring comfortably in my carry on. Received the steamer the day before departure, packed it without testing it. When I needed to use it, steamer wouldn't heat up, no steam no heat nothing. Lights on should be functioning... Nope just a $70 piece of crap paper weight. Get home from trip, request refund. No luck, past 30 days. Ok so you're getting an honest review.TL;DR - Bought this piece of sh*t for a vacation, brought it with me, didnt work, attempted to return, screwed by amazon 30 day policyForced to give a star to get review posted. 0 stars total worthless piece of crap.0/10 Would not recommend
