Money well spent
It would have been better if it was updated but overall it is very informative with clear strategies. The author assumes the reader know how to trade. So there were some things that would have been great if they were covered like entering and exiting a trade.

Proven Option Spread Trading Strategies is a Keeper
I have taken two options courses, and I've read several books and articles about options. I am happy to have found this book because it is the first one I have come across that is simple and straightforward. Most of the information I've read is incomplete and complicated, and after reading it I was left with the feeling that I had learned nothing new and still had a lot of questions; this includes information from the brokers and the CBOE. A common theme in several books I've come across is instead of giving us the tools we need to understand options and trade on our own, they are trying to sell you their system; this book does not do that. There are a couple of drawbacks to the book. It has many misspellings and punctuation errors, and in some places where it refers to "the graph above", the graph has been placed below. There are some technical errors also, but I found all of this to be a minor distraction since the base of the option information is so clear. Another drawback is this: he lists in chapter 4 many of the spreads and describes what they are, and then he lists more in chapter 5 without description, and then in the two trading examples in chapter 6 he uses two additional spreads which were not listed in chapter 4; there would be more cohesiveness if there were one list with all of the information in one place and the reader could refer back to that. The problem with this is that in chapter 4 he does such a great job explaining all features of the spreads and the detail that he describes with regard to risk and what can happen with each spread is one of the main positive features of this book. If the spread explanations were complete and organized better, it would strengthen the book. The step-by-step explanations of what you need to do and why are great. Another plus is this book is current as of January 2014.

Exactly what it says - strategies that work
The reviews that criticize all of the grammatical and typeset errors are true, so if you want a book that does not have grammatical errors then move on. But really, $5 for some really useful information and you are going to worry about the grammar? I must admit, the grammar errors are a distraction, but I got a lot of valuable information from this book to guide my trading. Not so much the detailed descriptions of all of the different option trades from iron condors to butterflies and all, though those are useful, but more the general underlying approach to trading. Many reviewers have pointed out that this book is best suited for novice to intermediate option traders. I agree, however the point is made often in this book that you don't need more complicated option strategies to make money, and in fact the more complicated strategies often get in the way of making money.Following Billy's counsel has made me a more confident investor, not worrying about the trades that lose money, knowing that I so long as I make trades with the odds in my favor over time I will make money, and that has definitely been the case. In just his general philosophy of what trades beginners should and should not enter, I recognized some of the "should not do" trades as ones that other options advisory services had recommended that I was not happy with. So, you can spend more money, but why?

Good brief overview of option trading for beginners
This book reads like advice from a friend or relative who's been trading himself for the last few years and passing on how he trades over a beer or two. If you're new to option trading, want something quick to read and trying to get someone's viewpoint its possibly worth reading. If you've started trading and want to learn more I dont think its concrete enough to really teach you anything. The first half of the book is pretty much a list of 29 most common option trades. Most of these strategies are the same strategies you'll see in the many (thousands?) of websites. Importantly there are no charts in this chapter, so possibly the only useful advantage is you get the author's opinion - even if it is unsubstantiated opinion.Unfortunately most of the rest of the book is similar. The blurb says that it contains Risk Management Strategies, tools to use etc etc. Choosing the best trades? This depends a lot on what types of markets are happening - you get an opinion but no real backup. All these things are mentioned but only a few pages each, its really too brief and too many unsubstantiated claims. Sure read it to get a good idea of one particular trader thinks, but make sure you check other academic and well-known hedge fund trader's books. Finally there are 10 pages near the end that appear twice, I'm starting to think I need to only buy books that have a proper publisher & editor.

A complicated subject explained easily...
For a regular Joe like me, this was going to be a tough nut to crack... but I am pleased to say it wasn't.As a studied the Chapters, it became instantly clear and enjoyable! Furthermore, I suggested 'hedging' before the author got to it and surely enough, it was in the next Chapter.I must say, if you are interested in trading, then this book will be an invaluable guide... not only to make some money but as important, to safe guard it too!

Pretty useless
This book is of limited value. It is poorly written, repetitive and full of typos. It provides no proper justification for the methods it advocates. For anyone genuinely interested in learning about or trading options, I suggest you look up one of the standard text books on the subject.

easy to read, straightforward trading guide - finally!
I picked up Bill William's book "Proven Option Spread Trading Strategies" when I started my research on trading strategies.Being a newcomer, I was looking for a book that was easy to read without having to use Google to understand and this book provided me with just that.Bill Williams explains strategies that are easy to understand and straightforward, a nice change compared to some of the other books I have picked up. His advice for beginners was exactly what I was looking for - what to do and what not to do. His simple indicators, determining trends and creating a backup plan are some of the key points that stuck out to me.He has provided me with more confidence about getting into trading and I can safely say I will use this book constantly as a reference and resource. I would recommend this guide for anyone who is looking to get into trading or a new outlook on trading - a wonderful tool!

Libro muy genérico
Hola,Si no sabes nada y quieres tener una visión general, pues muy bien. Sin embargo no es un libro de trading y su título lleva a engaño.
