Nice Metal Yoyo!
This is a nice and solidly built metal yoyo. Comes with 2 options to either make it responsive or not. Has several extra colored strings to choose from or used as replacements. It's a good size but I am taking a star off because the wide "V" design make my finger get wedge in the valley groove versus the older yoyo designs where my fingers rest over it. I appreciate that that same V feature allows for the thread to get in with more tricks, and maybe I'll get used to it in time, but for now, I experience it more as an inconvenience.

Fun for a novice!
There was one summer in the very end of the 90s that I got into yo-yos. They boomed at my elementary school--so much so that eventually they were banned. After that ban, I wanted to see the fuss. I didn't get into them right away because many of my classmates were learning more advanced tricks by the time I realized the hype, and I figured I'd never get to that level. But during one fateful summer, away from the city for the whole season, I practiced on my own. I learned a few tricks, but that was it.Fast-forward and I'm now seeing these toys more frequently downtown Chicago. From children to adults, the popularity is back. I did some research to see where I left off (quite a lot has happened), and looked up beginner-friendly yo-yos. I ordered this one and it's been played with daily since it arrived. It's very easy to use for someone like me who hasn't touched one in 20 years. There are different strings available, so no need to stress on back-ups just yet. There is also a bearing for an unresponsive mod, but I'm not there yet. So far, I've been able to re-do most of the tricks I learned, and I'm happy to see what else I'll learn with this one.

Not perfect, but a great value. Excellent for beginners.
Having already been experienced with unresponsive yoyos, I really wanted to give this one a shot. It looked nicely designed, branded, and packaged. It delivered on all those fronts. The yoyo itself is a bit smaller than I expected, but considering that it has a multi purpose of also being a responsive yoyo, on top of being aimed at beginners, this makes sense. The build is all aluminum and solid. Due to it's small size it feels heavier on the string than some others, definitely not floaty in the air, and way more weighted and deliberate. I don't imagine most beginners would notice these details however.Out of the box it comes with the responsive bearing in place. I personally didn't enjoy using this yoyo as a responsive one due to it's weight (I feel that plastic is better for this category), but for a beginner that hasn't made up their mind yet this is a fine compromise. After a few minutes I switched out the to the unresponsive bearing/axle. The bearings, by the way, are surprisingly good.Unresponsive this is a great small yoyo. As mentioned above, it feels a little heavy, but you can't expect top grade engineering out of a starter kit. What I can say is that the yoyo is stable, doesn't vibe, and is very easy to perform tricks on - Meaning that this can last you months, if not years, until you decide what style you enjoy and what you want to upgrade to. This top will not hold you back. That being said, my one other complaint are the included strings. They're coarse, a bit too grippy, and they come pre-knotted and way too short. I personally took out the factory knot and tied it myself, but even then it's not great. Fortunately strings are disposable and you'll be replacing them soon regardless. Still, it's something to keep in mind. You may already be spoiled by the more premium brands. That being said this is just... solid. It's the perfect word for this yoyo. It's good, and if you think it checks what you need out of your first return top, or perhaps you just want an affordable addition to your collection, there's very little to be disappointed with here. All the included accessories and the fact that it can be converted between both responsive and unresponsive makes this a great yoyo.

Fun for beginners
My son has been Loving this yo-yo. He’s not very good at it, but this yo-yo seems durable and pretty easy to use when you’re just starting out.

Seriously nice yoyo
Upfront disclosure: I received this item through the Amazon Vine program for review.Recently I was checking my stock of yo-yo's at home and I discovered that I had given my last one to my wife. Now we both find yo-yo's particularly calming, why I could not tell you, but we love them. Making a precision-made yo-yo go up and down, letting it spin, and the occasional trick are just something we find very soothing. But that also means we are a bit picky about our yo-yos. I have had lots of them over the years from every major manufacturer I can think of, some have been great and some have been less than satisfactory. We basically have reached a point where if it is not a well balanced yo-yo, we will get it out of the house quickly. But the really nice ones, well, those get coveted, shared, but coveted. So when I ordered this yo-yo I had high hopes for it based on the description, but I always wait until I have it spinning in my hand to decide if it is a keeper or not.So when this one came, it was pretty quickly taken out of the box. In the box there was a nice velvety bag for the yo-yo, several strings, and spare parts including the alternate axel. I picked out a string, put it on, wound it up and then immediately spun it up. It's a beautiful thing. The balance is excellent, not quite perfect but very close. It spins for very long times with little effort. The strings are good quality and very brightly colored and the yo-yo is made from what appears to be a solid piece of aluminum on each half. The paint looks like an anodized finish, which is good as it should be pretty durable. Pictures just don't quite do it justice. I find myself wandering all over the place with this yo-yo. It is really satisfying to use and quite easy. I would imagine this is a good choice if you want a very good yo-yo without breaking the bank. I could see it going to a beginner too, but it could be a bit dangerous too. It definitely has some weight to it (hence the excellent spinning). I will probably get more of these. It's definitely my new favorite.

Better than expected
Yoyo came with a hard case, extra strings, and the rest of hardware. She is a newbie but yoyo is always in her hand, great YouTube videos to learn from as well.
