Supergood!! (im a noob at keyboard building)
SO! Where to begin omg I honestly don't know too much about keyboard building so I ended up buying this when it was on sale just to get started in it. But it's super good! I don't really know specs or dampeners, and I haven't taken the things apart to check; but from what I type and hear, it sounds way better than the super clicky keyboard I had and hated to hear. I use white akko jelly whites and they sound so smooth and soft!! The keyboard is soo smooth and quiet. :D It has a weight to it and I'm in love in it, it makes me know it won't move around if I'm gaming too hard or something 😭 Super good for me and my noob experience with keyboards!! :) And the lights are sooo cute and I love the options.Cons though is something I can't tell if I caused onto the keyboard or if it's my game; but I play roblox and I tend to use the shift lock a lot. But lately, I noticed I have to press the shift key harder or sometimes even a couple times to get it to go into that shift lock. It might just be the game itself acting up, but I just started to notice it :( I'm not sure how to fix it if it's something acting up with my keyboard though.

Buy this barebone!!
Using dirt cheap switches and the resulting keyboard is still freaking awesome! (Akko V3 cream yellow) This thing honestly feels like you could seriously injure someone if you clocked them over the head. The switches installed without a hitch, and the sound is very muted. (which means I might actually take this to work) I'm not obsessed with whether my keyboard sounds clackey or thockey, and I'm not sure either apply to my setup. I've actually become less heavy-handed while using the yellow linear switches, and my coworkers will probably appreciate that. The only nitpick for me is that I don't give a darn about the backlighting and always turn it off. Annoyingly, the board never remembers the setting and I have to turn the lights off every time I power up my computer. Otherwise, I love it. Seriously, don't settle for blue, brown, or red switch keyboards. Build your own!!

Very solid and very satisfied!
So you get a PCB with a type C USB port along with a cable, an aluminum case and the bottom, smaller half is plastic. Feels like it's got a good amount of weight in hand. I put some lubed Akko jelly pink keycaps and a decent set of PBT keycaps on it. For typing the board is wonderfully sturdy. You can tell just from a few clicks how sturdy and well made it is all put together. Everything about it has been a positive experience. I suppose if I could ask for one thing, it would be the ability to change the RGB of each key individually.Don't hesitate to pick this up!

Outperforms its Price
Pros:- Heavy and quality feel aluminum- Comes with case stuffing and precut silicone in board on arrival- Dip switches for easy changes to config without needing software- Switch lock preventing accidennnntal keypresses by kids or animals- RGB settings are fairly easy to use, and has software as well.- Sounds great with my Gateron Milky Yellow SwitchesCons:- USB in left of center of the unit, aesthetically annoying, but changes nothing of the performance.- "White" model is actually mostly silver/steel colored, with white bottom, and white internalsHighly recommend this board if you are starting out with DIY kits or custom keyboards in general, and dont want to risk potentially hundreds of dollars on a hobby you may not enjoy, or a crappy kit that doesn't meet your expectations.

Amazing Value For Money
As background/context, I've gone down the groupbuy rabbit-hole of bespoke mechanical keyboards CNC-milled from aluminum, and taking 2+ years to ship, etc.IMO, this keyboard easily beats that experience, while delivering 99% of what those GBs try to do.In particular, the hot-swappable sockets mean that you are only limited by your own knowledge/patience in putting together your super-customized typing experience. I've set mine up with Silent Inks and a lovely keycap set, and I'm thoroughly enjoying it.Highly recommended to folks looking for a very good mechanical keyboard with amazing flexibility.

Exactly what it says on the tin
I don't typically write reviews, but the world of custom keyboards can be a confusing mess, especially on amazon. So I'm putting this here really to clarify for the next me out there wondering if this board is as advertised. It is. It has a very nice heft to it, really well built, which was honestly the main concern. Comes with a generic usb-c cable and a 2-in-1 keycap/switch puller.(for first time builders: all you need other than the board is switches and keycaps to get it up and running)P.S.For those of you trying to find a video of this board, the actual model is the CIY Tester 84. There are a couple videos on this specific model, but don't be confused by the 68key model which is wireless only.
