Best garbage truck toy ever!
My kid got the garbage truck bug early (15 months, maybe?) which created a dilemma--most garbage truck toys are not appropriate for really little ones. He already had a couple of super simple rear loader trucks but they weren't that fun for him at that stage. I did a lot of obsessive research before getting this truck for his 2nd birthday. Most side loader toy trucks are too hard for a two year old to operate and have delicate parts that break easily. This thing has held up SO well and is SO well loved. He's had it for 7 months now, and those have been mostly quarantine months with no daycare, so I'm pretty sure they should count at least double. He's played with it every day except on a couple of trips where we left it at home. He's loaded it up with rocks, sticks, sand, leaves, pinecones, Cheerios, every toy with small parts, torn up junk from our recycling bin, dirty socks, smaller garbage trucks (because the obsession has no limits), the dog's leash, and basically everything else he can get his hands on (if my car keys ever go missing, I will definitely check the truck). The arm is sturdy and flexible enough that it's held up to some rough handling and still works great. The trash can that comes with it has also held up great, and he's destroyed dozens of other toy trash cans in the time he's had this truck. We try not to leave it out in the elements because I want it to live forever, but it's definitely survived a few days out in the sun and doesn't seem to have faded at all. With the one negative review about not being able to replace the trash can in mind, I haven't let him carry the trash can all over town so we don't risk losing it. A lot of the time he plays with other toy trash cans with this truck anyway--they don't fit the arm so he just pretends.I didn't put batteries in it until a few weeks ago. I put it off because the truck was already plenty of fun without the lights and sounds and because enough things in our house already make noise. Once I finally broke down and put batteries in it, I was pleasantly surprised at how not annoying it is. It has 2 volume settings and the quieter one is delightfully tolerable.Basically, the only way I could love this truck more than I do is if it could cook dinner and do the dishes.

Kids Had a Blast
This was the hit at the birthday party! So much fun and easy to set up. Seems durable and is very cute! It’s awesome that you can actually pick up a can of trash and dump its contents into the truck. Kids had a blast picking up wrapping paper and filling the truck with it!

Quality is superb
Bought it seven years ago for my first son. Now passed it down to my second son and became his instant favorite. My second son is pretty rowdy and plays it rough. Still good as new. Very impressed with the quality.

A great toy for little kids
I bought this Matchbox 15-inch Recycling Truck for my 3 years old nephew, and he is in love with it. He even keeps it next to him at bed al night. Very high quality materials with nice lights and sounds.

Did not meet expectations UPDATE: exceeds expectations
Not impressed. It’s nice looking and has fun sounds. I like how it beeps when you drive it backwards. There are some things that didn’t meet my expectations, though:- made from thin plastic. Probably wouldn’t hold up being dropped down the stairs or being accidentally fallen on.- it’s kind of tricky to hook the blue trash bin up to the yellow lifting arm. My son struggles to get it lined up and attached, which frustrates him.- the lifting arm can be finicky. Move too fast and it smashes against the top and bounces back without opening. Move too slow and the trash can doesn’t tip (it requires some momentum at the top to flip the can over). This also frustrates my son when he can’t get it to dump right- the bed doesn’t lift up very far so the slope isn’t steep enough to dump out trash. My son has to lift the bed to dump it, then stick his hand in and scoop out all the ‘trash’ toys. It’s still a fun toy and my son loves it to pieces. I had just expected more.Edit: two years later, this is still my son’s favorite toy. Turns out it was more durable than I thought! He doesn’t mind it’s shortcomings. I’ve updated this review to 5 stars.Edit 2: two more years later, this thing is still going strong. It’s lasted 4 years and still looks and sounds brand new. I can’t believe my kids are still playing with it!

my grandson loves the truck
The material of the truck is very good. The size is big and sturdy. The truck function like real recycle truck. My grandson loves to play with it so far. The only things is it only came with one garbage can. I would said if the can lost, my grandson would not able to play with the truck anymore. We already search for the replacement can but fail to find any.

It’s a well built truck that is able to really be played with and used!
My son loves this truck!! He plays with this truck more than any of his others, and he has a lot. It’s well built and the coolest part is how the trash can really dumps into the top of it. A lot of toy trucks look cool but don’t actually work, like he has all these excavators that he can’t really dig with because they just aren’t built well, but this truck can actually be played with. He loves filling up the garbage can with rocks, or legos and dumping it into the back. It’s also nice because Ill use it as storage for his little match box trucks or whatever. One last thing, this truck does make noise, but it isn’t annoyingly loud at all. There are horns on tops and when you lift the barrel it makes like a dumping sound- but it isn’t too loud or anything- loud toys suck for parents! But this one is loud enough your kid will get a kick out of it But quiet enough to not drive you nuts either! My son has has this for a few months and it’s still in perfect condition , meaning it hasn’t broken and for him that says a lot because he’s a curious three year old boy, he takes things apart to see how they work- or he just is kind of rough with his toys, but this truck has held up and he still plays with it on a daily basis. I can’t count how many trucks I’ve bought that break super easy or that he gets bored with because they don’t do much, this one has kept his interest!
