Able To Use on MetroPCS! Affordable W/ Great Hi End Multi-Media Recording Features
One of the best phones I've ever owned at one of the best prices I've seen, very versatile and still has a removable back plate to insert battery replacements or SD Cards. I saw this phone demoed at a T-Mobile store for a price that was at least double what I paid on Amazon and because I have a MetroPCS account I wasn't sure it would work on their network. Well eventually it did, but after receiving in the mail I still had to go down & pay a MetroPCs store to activate it, but it is a much better than the stock phones MetroPCS offers. Lots of space in internal memory for apps, with the key factor of an optional SD card to boost storage of media, I chose to add another 64 gigs on a SanDisk card ( Sandisk Ultra 64GB Micro SDXC UHS-I Card with Adapter - 100MB/s U1 A1 - SDSQUAR-064G-GN6MA ) to make lots of room for onboard music & content at my disposal. The main selling point for me, besides the large dimmable screen and ease of rear side fingerprint authentication, is the high end multimedia features better than some video cameras and playback devices I own that are much more expensive. The LG V20 has real nuanced recording ability with the awesome camera feat adjustable & auto mic gain in the manual video mode that can direct the sensitive mics to pick up sound from either behind or in front of the phone, and helps me easily trim frequencies or record bands at loud venues without the sound breaking up like most Android phones. This is the first sub $300 Android phone I've ever used that matches or maybe even exceeds the iPhone in recording abilities. The headphone jack also has a proprietary Digital Analog Converter that puts out superior sound similar to Beats Audio. I bought an extended life battery case ( LG V20 Battery AexPower [10800mAh] Li-ion Replacement Battery for LG V20 BL-44E1F All Versions & Black Soft TPU Protective Case (More than 3.3X Extra Battery Power) | LG V20 Extended Battery ) separately which makes the phone much thicker & heavier, but I know I can get a full 24hr usage that way when I am not able to keep it on a charger for extended periods. I also bought a very low cost case for about $6 ( Abacus24-7 LG V20 Case, Wallet with Flip Cover and Stand, Black ,) for when I don't want the giant battery installed, this has a closable flap and doubles as a wallet for biz cards etc. I find the flap on the wallet not only protects the glass, but also helps hide my screen for privacy or to be less distracting with the light emitted in dark situations. Stock metal back gets hot if doing intensive battery draining multimedia app use, so a case is handy then for sure.Overall I have owned this item for just a few weeks, but the memory is much faster switching between open apps than previous MetroPCS phones I've had from Samsung, Alcatel & ZTE. It has the ability to have what LG calls Multi Window or Split Screen mode so you can see two apps at once, and I have installed many apps including video editing and none have frozen during light use. Hopefully this phone, which released back in 2016, will hold out with all the new Android updates and keep going with occasionally rugged daily use. I have been using it while driving rideshare gigs for 6 to 8 hours at a time and it has been fairly reliable so far, but I generally close all other apps to keep the memory free. I have had to reboot it a few times when network connectivity issues were plaguing me, but I have no idea if that was the phone's fault or my budget cell provider. At least with the option to pull the battery, you can clear some of those lingering OS or memory hangs that newer and more expensive phones without that option are oft prone too.

V20 nicer build quality than V10/G4
Latest Update - July 2019:I started Tethering my V20 to an ASUS1900 Router to provide my INet connection (I have no other INet service). The phone stays attached to the router unless I leave the house.By using the router to supply the WiFI signal for the household devices (Smart TV, Two M6600 laptops, spare phone) the V20 runs cooler because it no longer has to serve as a Hotspot.I also get twice the WiFI range - about 100 ft.Update :Its is now one year later and my V20 is still awesome. No issues - what a great phone. It gets a workout everyday - hotspot that streamins to my smart TV, simultaneous voice, downloads, upload, etc.-----------------Original review: I have owned two LG G4s, a V10, and now the V20.Liked all of them, but the V20 is in a separate class. One of my G4s and my V10 both failed with the well-known 'boot-loop' problem caused by a motherboard bonding defect exacerbated by overheating. I used mine frequently as a hotspot with voice calling simultaneously and they both ran warm (90-100F); especially so if also wireless charging. The V20 has a different MB design and supposedly does not suffer from this problem. Mine is running 70-80F-90F under similar usage conditions.I bought a used one, fulfilled by Amazon, for $185 and it is flawless. The screen is brighter than the V10/G4 and much easier to read in sunlight. The build quality is noticeably higher. Its is very sleek and thus more slippery than its predecessors so I ordered an LG brand slim case. The rear camera is very nice. It has a wide angle and normal lens. The former has only an 8 MP sensor (vs 16MP for the normal) but it is nice to have an ultra-wide shooting option. Pics attached. The V20 has a quad DAC and audio quality is superb.Compared to the S7 Edge with comparable specs but a non-replaceable battery and twice the price, the V20 is a bargain.I will update the review if I have any boot-loop or other problems.

Ticks all my boxes. Used absolutely worth the $$$.
Great device. Purchased used. T-Mobile version still getting patches, though Oreo not expected until Spring 2018. Opted not to root at this time, though DAC performance hobbled by current implementation. (Head-fi forums have extensive discussions about this issue and audio quality.) Tried out other phones like the LeEco LePro 3, but hated their CDLA headphones and lack of 3.5 jack. V30 is not worth the upgrade in late 2017 when used v20s can be found for 1/4 the price. I'll get new battery directly from LG (complaints posted on Amazon about LG-branded batteries not being authentic), and this device should get me through the next year and 1/2. Use mine with Grado 80's, but this phone can handle all headphones up to $1000+ planars. If you're on the fence about buying this phone in late 2017, don't hesitate.

... to have missed out on the last of the greatest cellphones made
Anyone reading this review now is likley to have missed out on the last of the greatest cellphones made.Sure I keep hearing about bootloops, have no had one yet and we've had 4 LG phones to date. ( I'm going to say lucky, unless bootloop people all did something incredible stupid to cause it)So: Removable battery, large screen , SD card slot, DAC , 3.5mm jack.. Fast charge. All you need is to buy a new battery every few years and this phone will likely last 5-6 years and in the age of planned obsolescence this is a god among other 1000$ phones.
