Works great! The unit I received is brand new
Works great! The unit I received is brand new. The box was unopened. Updating the unit was fast and simple using a wired network connection.I just finished watching the 4K blu ray of the Japanese movie Your Name that I purchased from Amazon.co.jp. The playback performance was fine and everything looked beautiful. The unit itself is nicely designed as a short square box. It is not a large rectangle as other home electronics. It is simple to use, easier than using a PS4 for blu ray playback (Note: PS4 Pro does not support 4K blu ray).

Great Player!
Had this player for about a week now. As far as the player itself the picture is superb on UHD discs, especially with HDR10, and upscales regular blu-ray discs very nicely. UHD Guardians Galaxy vol 2 was outstanding! After figuring out the audio options it is capable of Dolby Atmos. Sounds great! Took a few days to figure out the audio menu, not very intuitive. The audio options are listed on the right in two columns with no indications on how to pick them. Left hand column is the options and the right hand column is the actual options for each option on the left. I put this in here to save you some time and frustration. It only has Netflix and Youtube, so not really a big streaming option. I have a Roku so no big deal for me. Once it has the Dolby Vision Firmware upgrade(not yet) it will check all the boxes for me. At this price, a good value. Happy so far!

The only 4K Blu Ray Player You Need!
This 4K blu ray player has it all for a VERY reasonable price! Probably the cheapest out there for all the features it has. It is Dolby Atmos compatible, Dolby Vision Compatible and the picture is just outstanding. I have this player through a TCL Series 6 65" 4K TV and it looks incredible! I also have a Vizio 5.1.2 Atmos surround sound set-up and the Atmos sounds really great through this player. I believe this is also DTS:X capable. The only thing that's missing is HDR10+ support but I believe that HDR format is losing out to Dolby Vision anyways. Very few 4K blu rays out with HDR10+. Save your money on all the expensive 4K blu ray players and buy this one, it should future proof you for awhile.

Does not play home-recorded DVD-Rs!
Seemed to work well until I tried to play video that I had recorded on a DVD-R on my Magnovox DVR. The DVDs would not play and I have several dozen like this and was in the process of transferring my old digital high 8 tapes from my old Camcorder to DVDs! The discs play fine on three other players - 2 Sony Blu-ray players and 1 Sony 4K player. The unit was advertised to play discs recorded on DVD-R. I called tech support at Philips and they had no ideas. I was well past my Amazon -30-day return window but when I explained that the unit would not do the very thing I bought it to do they were very understanding and gave me a refund! I love Amazon.com but I will not buy another Philips product. I bought a the Sony 4K player for about $100 more but I learned my lesson - you get what you pay for!

Awesome 4k player
I ordered the BDP7502, but received the BDP7302. From what I have been able to find out, I believe they're the same.. however, the 7302 may be specific to Sam's Club as that's where it was shipped from. The 4k player comes with an HDMI cord which was nice. It didn't come with a manual, so I wasn't sure about some of the player settings. After getting the audio and video set up properly, everything worked beautifully. A message pops up when starting a movie about checking the USB port for BD-Live, it goes away.. you can also insert a USB drive. There hasn't been an update for Dolby Vision as of yet, but I'm still very happy with the 4k player and Guardians of the Galaxy 2 looks gorgeous on my 4k TV.

Good product, fairly fast disc load time
It's a very nice UHD blu ray player, but two things made my rating a 4; I really wish it had a display on the front, and for some reason I'm not fond of the remote control. The remote works fine and maybe it's just me, but I seem to continually get confused as to the top of the remote and the bottom. Nothing stands out to me such as a different colored power button on the top just so I can grab it in the dark and know the top from the bottom with minimal lighting in the room. This is a very small issue for me but adding that with a lack of a display and I feel a 4 star rating is needed.

Blu-Ray Player with built in screen reader for VI!
I purchased this unit on Thanksgiving. I've been hoping for a sale.My needs for this product are a little unique. I am a blind individual, Philips has implemented a screen reader in their new TV and Home Video lines. I was able to completely setup without any assistance.Setup and update was easy enough. Although, the UI is clunky and takes getting used to. The navigational cursor on remote is a PIA... Needs a redesign. With that said, I do like the unit and its ease of use.For my blind family.... make sure your wireless password doesn't include symbols. The screen reader wasn't reading symbols to input in text field. Characters and numbers are no issue. Also, it states YouTube will not work with Voice Guide. I’ll use apps on Apple TV or Fire... no big deal!Dolby Atmos is fantastic on this player. Worked as it should.

No Frills, High-End Consumer Level 4k
The pros: solid build and feel. Doesn't slide around when I insert a disc. The remote is heavy, which I like, and the buttons are spaced for a normal adult to use, which is great! Doesn't overwhelm with streaming options that other players have. The cons: slow disc start ups, lots of black screens, the EJECT button is in the CENTER of the remote (?), menus are dated and boring, there are only two streaming options (non-changeable), plays next to none of digital files I've put in via the USB.However, this is the only model that properly plays back HDR content through my Epson projector. The image is solid and the 3D content has the least amount of ghosting of any of the recent players I've tested out.I've tried the Sony and Samsung UHDs, both of which had their own list of issues. The unit itself was larger than the photos led on, which is great. I thought this was going to get lost on my shelf, but it has a great minimalist look. Did I mention that the eject button is in the center of the remote? This means that when you go to pick the remote up, chances are your finger lands right on it, and ejects the disc while you might be watching something.

Great quality, excellent value!
Played 4 blu-ray movies on my Philips BDP7502 (2x FHD, 4K HDR10, 4K DV), so far no issues, smooth playback, and I can't hear the disc spinning at all. Just a bit slow when shutting down and a slight screen flash when it is automatically switching from SDR/HDR10/DV. Very happy with the output quality and pleasantly surprised at the build quality (metal enclosure).

Great budget 4K player
Good 4K player. Takes a bit longer to turn on than I would expect but that is not a big issue. I like that it's compact in size and fits perfectly with my entertainment system. I like the networked features, I'm able to access netflix with it.I have had no issues with it since purchasing it in july 2017

Love this item!!!
A very useful product if you own a 4K UHD TV. For the price, you cannot beat it. Love it!!! Delivery from Amazon was great as usual. Amazon and I are becoming great friends when it comes to online buying.

Dolby Vision doesn't work at all for some TVs (i.e. Sony's X900 series)
So I bought this player because I wanted to be able to play Dolby Vision discs on my new Sony 65X900F TV and I thought it was displaying them in Dolby Vision and I come to find out (after months of troubleshooting and dealing with Sony and Philips) that it's not compatible with the Sony line of 4K TVs. They just play in HDR10 (as reported by my receiver) as it won't handshake with the TV to display it in Dolby Vision. So I can't recommend this player since Philips is flat-out lying about Dolby Vision support, especially when support gives you the run around and doesn't have any plans to update the device to support newer TVs. It's frustrating because I didn't find this out until I was outside of the return window for the player. Some people have also reported problems playing discs. I had an issue with Saving Private Ryan so I got a replacement and it plays fine.... problem is I still can't get Dolby Vision which was the whole reason I went to the trouble of buying specific 4K blu-rays, cables, a TV and a receiver. I even reset my TV to factory settings which wiped out calibrated settings I paid for. Not buying Philips stuff ever again. If you don't care about Dolby Vision I suppose it's fine but there's a reason I bought this one over older models and even Sony's own player (you have to manually switch to DV on that one whereas this one would do it automatically, if it was even supported). If Philips releases an update to make this right then it'll be 4 stars but they can't even be bothered to support their own products. If you have another TV give it a shot but don't expect it to work. It's nice that it does Atmos though (you just need to set HDMI audio to bitstream). There doesn't seem to be any decent players out there that will do Dolby atmos, Dolby vision (with an auto detect feature) and that are quiet. This is part of the reason why 4K players and discs aren't doing well. Companies rush them out, release one update and then move onto another model.

Works fine..
Works fine...no problems...good basic software much better than complicated software! Only Netflix and YouTube access? No amazon. But works solidly. Maybe too plane for some.A little bigger than expected...smaller than most.
