Great additional functionality for iPad
The packaging is slightly underwhelming - Twelve South could do a bit better here.. the product eve looked a bit dusty.. looked like it was more or less thrown together - creating some initial worry as it is a rather costly stand.Once installed however (am using the base - not the clamp) those concerns are quickly out of the door. Have been using the stand for a few days no and already noticeable in my workflow. Use it with an older iPad Pro (10.5) as a second screen using sidecar or for video-conferencing. In both cases it works perfect. The iPad is securely held in place - no wobble (unless ever so slightly when you use the touchscreen). Very adjustable to find the ergonomic sweet spot. Ideal for working from home (we all know the iPad cams are better than those on a MacBook). Sure in time I will also take it along in the house when a higher stand is useful - or to the office / other workspace - even daily, the stand is not that heavy and fits well in my usual day pack. An ideal combination with my Roost laptop stand. Also holds my phone very well and allows charging. The adjustment screws, base plate and clamp all seem very sturdy. And good attention to detail that the two hex keys are added.Points of concern:The construction is very sturdy. All metal parts seem well built. The plastics look fine as well and may well hold up well. Off course only time will tell if that will be the case with the ball mount of the clamp. Maybe a metal / rubber construction would be mure durable? The plastic insert in the bottom part of the stand is firm and does not move, the top insert however (no structural role is a bit loose.Changing between the base plate and the clamp is straightforward - but you'll have to take some time for it - so you'll probably stick with one or the other for a while.Clamp is sturdy but the paintwork feels rather cheap - there's already a bit of ecstatic damage right out of the box...All considered - an excellent product - if you have a Mac and an older or unused iPad around this can give it a second life with sidecar...

Very Sturdy
I was looking for a stand for my iPad Pro; not only to adjust the height but also to be able to use the touch screen/apple pen without too much wobble and be sturdy enough for writing notes etc. This does the job super well. I am just using the base but there is an option to clamp the bar to the desk.I am impressed, worth the money, easy set up and ability to tighten the various section with ease.

Just don't use a case....
This is a good enough, strong enough holder with great flexibility in how you use it. For the 12.9 iPad Pro however when you add a case it doesn't work as it sags and won't support the weight. If you don't use a case or are happy to remove it every time it works.

it does what it says on the box. Sturdy and just what you expect from Twelve South
I purchased it to use my iPad as a second screen for my Macbook Pro. I expected to have to bolt it to a table but it works with just the stand. I also use it to watch TV when my Wife is watching something on the main TV. It’s probably one of the most useful things I have bought

Not worth the money
Oh boy, this stand and I just didn't hit it off! 😅 I was kind of hoping for a stand that would make me do a happy dance considering the price tag, but alas, it didn't quite hit the mark. On the bright side, it's got this solid, hefty base that could probably withstand a small earthquake, and the concept is cool. But those arms? Bless their hearts, they're like the gymnasts who forgot to stretch – a bit too flimsy for my liking. And don't even get me started on the middle joint; it's stiffer than a grandparent's dance moves at a wedding.Long story short, my wallet and I had a little chat, and we both agreed this stand wasn't worth the investment. It's back to the drawing board for me...

Poor quality - 2 months use
Total disappointment! It doesn’t worth the price. Better to get a chines noname product for better price. After 2months of use it broke the leg where you slide it into. One side completely broke the other partially so now I can’t use it at all, not fixable with glue either because it’s a tiny plastic. Super disappointed! Money in the bin…

Better than cheaper versions but still not quite perfect.
I had a cheaper version of this and that did the job but it was very limited in height and positions possible. This one solves that. I can have my iPad up higher, and in portrait or landscape - though it only holds the iPad from the side that charges my Apple Pencil so I can’t charge it when not in use.It is not strong enough to hold the iPad leaning far forward. If my iPad has a case on it, it very slowly droops to a downward facing angle sometimes. It also wobbles a lot which I notice while typing. So I’m begrudgingly keeping it because it’s better than other things I’ve tried but still not quite perfect. Which is annoying because it’s more than double the price of alternatives.

Great product that does have a weight limit to it.
The media could not be loaded. Really well constructed and easy to setup. Adds some additional versatility to my current desk setup. The iPad will work fine as will the Samsung tab 7 plus, but up to a point. As you can see from the video, it’s probably a little too heavy and drops down if I bring the device forward.Further update : When I made the video for this review, the tablet had a magnetic back cover attached to it. I subsequently found that removing this prevents the hover bar from ‘dropping’ as shown presumably because it’s holding less weight.
