Lakeland ActiveGrasmoor Strong Round Walking Boot & Shoe Laces

SUMMARY:Ordered: 13th March 2017All four of them gone by: 13th October 2017 (weird date coincidence)My right boot's lace came warn in one area and the white core became exposed, once that rips, you don't have long until the lace is useless. One of these ripped in the same place, the other 3 in different places (if they all ripped in the same place I'd blame the boot and maybe file it down).That's less than two months a lace. I'm VERY disappointed in these.I think there are 5 star reviews because IT'S A LACE - YOU CANNOT GO WRONG - but I assure you that all 4 of the ones I got didn't last. The right boot for example is on it's original lace. And I remind the reader that these broke in different places. So it isn't a sharp edge over time.AlecOriginal review follows:-------------------------------------------------The old/came-with-footware shoe laces lasted a VERY long time before the outer layer was cut and the white core showed, these lasted 5-6 weeks ish (who remembers the exact date?) - they haven't failed in that the outer layer can still be pulled to tie them but the rip is getting bigger.As these were just so I could get a bit more out before the tread wore out I'm not upset, but it means they're not good quality laces.Once the outer layer breaks it becomes really hard to pull the lace tight and the core gets cut much easier so it will eventually snap.Alec-------ADDENDUM------the 2nd one has ripped significantly now (the problem they were brought for) about the 10th of September, That's 2 in 5 months, not good.

These laces look great, sharp colour and originally feel robust, it was also a bonus having two pairs for the price, which I hadn't noticed at the time of ordering.The laces stay securely fastened once tied.I would have given 5 stars, but unfortunately I've only been using them about a week and I've noticed some of the lace core starting to protrude through the coloured section.It's in the section you tie, so don't know how it has started to occur, I suppose it could have been caught on vegetation whilst walking.It's not a huge issue and I have the bonus of another pair of needed!Well a fortnight after first use and I'm now moving onto the second pair as both of the original pair of laces have 3 places where the yellow lace core is popping out through the red. 🙁

I write this review based on my decades of experiences as a consumer of items such as this.These boot laces are fairly thin and lightweight.They will do the job required in the short term but it will not be too many uses before the outer sleeve is likely to split / break and require replacement.Overall use in this a lightweight manner. Not suitable for reliable daily use with heavy walking boots.

Extremely disappointed with the quality of this product. I purchased these to replace the original laces in my walking shoes, which had lasted nearly 2 years. After only a couple of weeks of use the cover on the laces started bunching toward the lace end and also parts of the cover started to snag.These were not cheap and I had expected a quality product. Unfortunately this is not the case.Don't waste your money.

I bought these laces just under a year ago to replace the laces in my walking boots. The original laces had lasted about 8 years. These Lakeland laces look great on the boots, and appear to be of good quality. However, they stretch more than the original laces, and actually their strength and durability is not that great - they have lasted less than a year before needing to be replaced (and that is with only occasional use). If you want laces that will last, then look elsewhere.

The laces have lasted 20/12/20 to 24/05/21.Every day use ,some days 4xper day , boots on / off.Thats not a bad pair of laces !Its hard to give a review when they havnt gone through the pace.Durable , long lasting. They only broke( well not broke , the outer part of the lace perished, only due to the metal eyelets rubbing them)If these were in leather eyelets they would still be going strong? No doubt?Great for the price.Just ordered another pair, for my next back up.

These arrived quite quickly and are, so far, doing the job of keeping my walking boots on my feet.Dropped a star as they are much a brighter blue than shown on Amazon. Would have bought navy ones if I had known. Early days though as need to see how these fair in a few months time after trekking though mud & slush as I often do.

I recently bought a new pair of Scarpa boots and I'm currently changing my gear into a black and neon orange theme, so I was looking around and found these. Quality and practical is also important which is what I've found these laces to provide for me.Compared to the standard boot laces, these laces are slightly thicker (image comparison provided) so I was concerned as to whether they would actually fit in but thankfully they did. As they are slightly thicker, we have yet to test the length of durablity they have compared to hiking waxed laces such as the standard ones, but then again this will always vary depending on the types and length of walking / hiking ventures you intend on doing.The colour "pops" so to speak. I love the look of the bright orange laces with my dark brown Scarpa boots and overall I'm very happy with these laces and the service provided by the seller. I would highly recommend on trying these if you're in need of some good boot laces, a replacement or even if you're just looking for a colour change to make your boots stand out.
