Good Quality, comfortable & practical boot.
Firstly these are very comfortable boots. I've had several pairs over the years and have found them comfortable straight out of the box with no problems. I find Merrel sizes a bit on the small side and order a full size up from my shoe size. I find these boots accommodate my gnarly feet better than leather ones. They are a good quality item as you'd expect from Merrel, probably best for general hiking and, being fabric, they can suffer a bit on very hard terrain. They have a good, grippy Vibram sole, decent fastenings and laces and are waterproof in general useIf you look at all the different price options, they can vary quite widely, but there are usually some good offers available which make these very good value for money.

Comfy well made boot, small sizing
Tried these out, 3rd time lucky. I’m a size 11 however they were tight, returned went a size up, still not right, returned again and went half a size up-perfect. Have never worn any size 12.5 footwear ever before these!Saying that, they are very comfy, don’t need breaking in and have effortlessly done their first 5 miler. Look well made, grippy, stiff enough sole with right forefoot flex, light, breathable and GoreTex plus got @47% discount-what’s not to like? As for durability, waterproofing only time will tell.

Great for hikes!
Absolutely fantastic for hikes. Went on one in Wales after a few rainy days and encountered some marshy and boggy areas, no leaks! Very comfortable and light. Might be a bit slippery on wet rocks. Get it when discounted (<£100).

Still a bit snug although I bought a size up
These boots are great for walking or day to day wear. This is now my fourth pair. However I have really noticed that they are being manufactured smaller My first pair were size ten and lasted a couple of years before being relegated to gardening shoes. I'm still wearing them comfortably. Next I bought 10.5 and they still fitted ok but the pair after that at 10.5 proved to be really uncomfortably tight and haven't given at all. I tried again with this pair buying a size 11 and they are still quite tight. Even the laces seem shorter - just long enough to get a single knot in.A real pity as they are great shoes when they fit. I'm going to be looking elsewhere for my next ones

Beasts.
Haven’t worn them as much as I’d have liked yet but when I have, I love them. They look great are highly comfortable, sturdy, and durable. They’ve passed all rain tests so far with no leaking and have kept me warm and snug during some colder hikes. They are also surprisingly light on my feet, even when wet.Note: I find Merrells a better fit if I size up one half. It gives me more width across my toes. This has been the case across three different pairs and three different styles of shoe.

It took me quite a while to find a perfect fit, climbed Ben Nevis on 2nd walk!
These instantly feel comfortable and not heavy at all. I climbed Ben Nevis on the 2nd walk, they were fine... No water ingress, still in good condition and comfy - no blisters. However, I had to try, and send back, several other pairs. One pair, one sole was more flexible than the other. Another pair, were slightly looser (so I could wear thicker socks) but made a sound when walking. This is a fairly common issue that comes up on these, if they are a bit loose. One thing, I found that the sole was a bit rigid as my heel went down, my foot didn't 'roll' naturally and foot landed... Only really noticeable on flat paths etc.

Wear them out of the box
My second pair of moab's. Excellent pair of boots. Unfortunately split my first pair on the West highland way but still carried me through to the finish. Very comfortable with minimal breaking in.

Not waterproof
I was willing to pay extra for the best, and I did not hesitate to purchase Merrell Moab 3 for full price 110 GBP or so, as I was certain this was the best, as Merrell's name is well known, and gore-tex also seems to be the gold standard. However, on the very first time I wore them, to a short 5km walk through wet grass, my feet were soaked! Hiking shoes are not supposed to to that...This is not even near that is expected from "Mother of all boots". I sent them back for refund. Thanks to Amazon, they accepted the return with no issues.None of other hiking shoes behaved like that. In fact, on the same day I sent the Merrell back, out of frustration I purchased a noname hiking waterproof shoes (from Lidl for 30 euro), because I urgently needed something for tomorrow. And in the same wet grass conditions - no issues. What will you say Merrell?Again I must emphasize this is a very basic requirement for gore-tex hiking shoes not to let water in. I put 3*, and not 1*, because I optimistically believe I had a faulty pair - I can't believe they all would soak after the easy walk.P.S. I must mention in the interest of truth that the shoes sit extremely comfortably, although I had to get UK11.5 instead of my usual 11 and they are a bit narrow.

Merrell its Merrell
This are the 6 pair of boots from Merrell, i've always bought the same size, always, but in this particular model they are kind of small fit. After actually breaking them, they feel alittle more apropiate, like the previus models i've owned, but its a fact that they are slightly smaller. Don't really understand why....Overall, they still are the expected quality and confort of the brand. So i highly recomended, but make sure you try the size first. (This is the first time that the size its not a PERFECT fit!!!!????)
