It's my second pair, just as good as the first, great value for the price
This is my second purchase of the Chippewa 25975. I first bought a pair in 2006, and it immediately felt more comfortable than another pair of a competing brand that I had also. I use the Chippewa 25975 exclusively for riding motorcycles. It is easier to walk around in than boots specified as "biker boots", and it especially doesn't have any zippers or buckles that let rainwater intrude. Because it isn't overly tall, controlling the bike, shifting gears etc. is easy and comfortable.Based on my experience with the first pair, which I finally managed to wear out after 8 years of almost daily use, the rain protection is excellent. I use neatsfoot oil on the leather to keep it soft. The Chippatex membrane inside keeps water away from the feet, and works as well as Gore-Tex in a jacket. Your feet may *feel* wet when rainwater is sitting on the other side of the membrance, but they are really dry.The fit of the boots is exactly right for my specified size. Style and workmanship are excellent. I hope they'll still be available another 8 years from now, when I expect to replace them again.

Fit well, but after a few months of my ...
Fit well, but after a few months of my husband wearing the inner lining started to detach from the boot. So now everytime he takes them off the lining gets stuck and makes it hard to remove. So, not a fan of the cloth inner lining will make sure it's leather in future.

Definitely NOT Waterproof
I have worn Redwings most of my adult life and I have had these Norwegian-Welt Chippewas for about a year. They are a very comfortable, well constructed, Chinese made boot that are not repeat not waterproof. Just walking in high wet grass, my socks are soaked. If I get caught in a reasonably heavy rain, it feels like my feet are floating in the boot. I treat the boots routinely with Sno-Seal and they still offer no protection against wet. They are a good boot in dry conditions but if you are paying extra for waterproofing, it may be a waste of money. I finally had to buy a pair of Kamik boots for wet conditions.

Great Work boot - Slip them on all the time
Got these boots to slip on in the morning to shovel snow rather than lace up my old boots. These were a little tight right out of the box, but quickly formed to my feet nicely (size seems true - I wear 10.5 in most shoes and this is what I ordered). The fit is great, my feet don't get tired, and they are quick on and off. I liked them so much I put them in my work vehicle to use in the field as well. I've worn them in temperatures down to about 15F with a stiff wind and a few inches of snow and my feet were fine. Easily shed snow so far, but will probably require some maintenance on the leather as time goes on. Price seemed a little steep, but I'm satisfied with the quality and comfort - so you get what you pay for with these.

Initial impression looks good
Been wearing these for about a week now so can't say anything for longevity, but quality seems to be top notch. I work in mud and water everyday and these boots have kept my feet warm and dry even during the past few 20 degree days. They do not offer the ankle support that a lace boot does but that is to be expected.

Unbelievably Comfortable Work Boots!!!
I purchased these from Amazon not ever having used any Chippewa boots. My two concerns were the true fit (size reliability) and comfort of these boots. I bought these to work outdoors on my property. I often find myself doing a lot of manual labor as well as being on my feet for many hours while completing projects at home. I have Plantar Fasciitis which causes extreme pain in my feet and heel. I am very familiar with work boots since my profession requires I wear them regularly. I've found that all the tactical style boots I've worn are junk when it comes to working outdoors (yard work). These boots have allowed me to continue to work hard and long without experiencing any pain during or after my projects. I am very, very happy with my purchase. Amazon has made these boots available at an incredible price. I know I will buy them again when I need a new pair. It seems that I go through them quite often so durability can not be evaluated since I've only worn them for 1 month now.We are currently in a dry spell at home so in terms of water resistance, I can not speak. The boots are TRUE to size. I wear a 10.5 and the boots when ordered that size fit nicely. I have a narrow foot so wide feet may have issues although they do not fit me tight. Don't waiver and buy them, you will NOT be disappointed.
