Matte Finish Looks Great & Easy Install
July 2022:Just installed the matte finish door hinge covers on my Gladiator. The finish is a very close match to the other black items on the Jeep.INSTALLNo instructions came with the package but the installation instructions are posted in this item’s description. I followed those instructions to the letter.1.) After a thorough washing the day before, I used 4 alcohol prep pads (not included) and thoroughly cleaned all 8 door hinges where the double stick tape would be adhering.2.) This next step is the longest, most tedious step; I did this next step inside, out of the heat and humidity. Using the tip of a razor blade, I lifted up a corner of each piece of double stick tape on all 16 pieces (each door has 2 hinge covers and 2 cylinder shaped covers). Then I used a pair of tweezers to lift up on the covers of each piece of tape on every piece and place them tape side facing down on a clean surface.3.) I then took all the pieces outside and placed them on clean surface, again tape side facing down. Piece by piece I flipped 1 piece over and used a heat gun, on a low setting, to warm up the tape. If you apply too much heat, the piece will begin to warp. I then placed the piece in the correct location. Note: there are 4 left covers and 4 right covers, make sure you put the corresponding covers on the correct side.4.) After all 16 pieces were applied, I went over each one with my hands and fingers, applying pressure to the taped areas.THOUGHTS OVERALLI bought these solely for aesthetic reasons. So far it looks awesome and breaks up the white on my Jeep Gladiator very nicely. If you look at my photos, you’ll notice that when looking from the front to the back at a tight angle, the hinge covers do not completely cover the top cylinder. This is minor issue as it’s not easily noticeable but if some people might be turned off this product for that reason. For me, the ease of install (over pasti-dipping, vinyl wrapping or replacing the hinges) makes it a very acceptable trade off. I don’t believe these will last more than a few years but they should be very easy to replace when the time comes.I’ll try to remember to post updates to this as time goes on.

Looks, Fits and Performs as Promised
I carefully read all the comments on these pieces before ordering. Took a chance that, as with most items, some folks just seem to have troubles while most don't...if the item is good. The pieces all fit perfectly. The 3/4 round bottom pin piece can seem loose, but once applied was very solid. Some folks talked about applying thicker (or wider...not clear) 3M tape. I purchased some of the wider exterior automotive grade door molding tape, but did not use it. I kept the tape in case a problem ensues. I tried to remove the supplied 3M tape on the smaller lower hinge piece, which appeared to have the best chance for loosening because those pieces had only one tape strip on them. It was almost impossible to remove the supplied tape, so I left it alone thinking it should provide plenty of adhesion when properly applied to a clean surface and warmed up. So far, all has been fine. When placing the lower hinge pin protector, notice one inside end of the protector has a small ridge around it, and a larger gap between the end and the start of the tape. Place this edge toward the top of the hinge. If you press the protector onto the hinge in such a way as to cover the gap between the top protector and the small bottom protector, you eliminate a spot where small pieces of sand or grit could hit the hinge. When properly installed, the black bottom of the hinge pin will stick down below the edge of the pin protector. The small inside ridge keeps the protector riding up in place over the gap. If a gap should develop, just push the protector up to close the gap. After a bit in the warm sun, or a couple uses of a heat gun, the protector seems to be staying in place when the doors are opened. This a quality piece, although the black finish is shiny. But, far better to be a bit shiny than have your hinges constantly subject to chipping. Perhaps they will eventually offer a flat textured black version, like the rest of the factory black finished plastic.Protects and looks great on my 2019 Jeep Rubicon. If anything changes over time, I will update this post. Thanks for what initially seems to be a very good product.

Protect your Jeep.
This is my first Jeep, but we’ve had many in the family over the years. Chips happen. Especially on the hinges.Theses are rather cheap and are airbrushed, but they are molded perfectly and have great fitment.Don’t read the other reviews. The tape is fine! Save yourself hours and use a tweezers to peel off the backing. It’s painless. If you don’t mind something cheap, but looks good and will save your hinges, then it’s probably a safe purchase. If you want some power coated metal or higher end product, then look elsewhere. I just won’t tell anyone and I don’t think they’ll ever know the difference.

Great Product!!!
These covers do the job BUT you MUST buy and use some 3M tape. The tape that is provided is thin and cheap!I followed the advice of a previous buyer/installer and placed the round hinge pieces on FIRST. I did not use tape on the top pieces because they fit pretty snug but I did put a strip of tape on the inside of the bottom pieces. (Make sure the bottom piece meets the top piece to prevent any noticeable gaps.) Then, after heating the 3M tape and the actual hinge itself with my heat gun, I pressed the flat cover on and held it for about 12 seconds (with pressure). Repeat this for all the remaining pieces and you have a tightly secured cover and great look. I bought the cheapest color (gloss black) and painted them using a black textured paint to be consistent with my other trim accessories.I rated it a 4 since I had to make an additional purchase.I hope this helps!

Looks fabulous
These look great and were easy to install. A little faffy trying to get the backing off the tape but used tweezers and this made it easier. Once the tape was off, heated it with a lighter and they just click in to place. Been on my jeep about a month and seem solid. Really happy with this purchase and would recommend 😊

No instructions or indicators for uppers and lowers
So I am an auto body tech and I cheapest out on replacing my hinges for now with these covers. I have done many, many, many installs of cladding and stick on parts like this so knowing where to but the tape and how to properly prep the area was not a concern for me. However, a simple indicator that tells you which is the cover for the upper part of the hinge and which is the lower would be immensely helpful because the two prices look very similar but one is just slightly bigger than the other and it can effect the positioning of the rest of the cover. Other than that the product is what you would expect for the price plastic looks a little shiny when it's new but does settle to blend into most of the other black plastic on wranglers

Not Matte Black
The hinge covers seem to be of sturdy material. I ordered matte black but they are still very glossy. I ended up buying some matte flat black spray paint and coated them before installation. It better matches the matte black of the plastic trim on my Jeep.

Not very practical
Product not as pictured. The piece covering the hinge are suppose to be capped one end and open on bottom piece . But both are capped. This will allow any water to collect and remain causing the hinge pin to be in water constantly causing the metal to rust and rot
