book came quickly in decent shape. now i have to buckle down and read it. English version was thrilling, suspenseful

Wanted a good contemporary fiction book to read to help maintain my German reading skills. This was an excellent choice. It is long, at a couple hundred pages from the end you think you have it all figured out, and are wondering how the heck will the author sustain this for the last 200 pages. Well, she does, and with incredible human interest, characterization, and suspense. I already have purchased the two novels following this, "Wer Wind Saet", and "Boeser Wolf", and will be reading them.

Great book - ordered a couple more by Nele Neuhaus. Interesting characters, good plot, I had to get through it and just couldn't put it down.

Why indeed? YOu'd have to read this book to find out why. Unfortunately, it's in German and if your language skills are languishing you won't catch on. BUT, if you have German in your repertoire, you'll enjoy this thriller. Well written, clever,and an unusual mystery story. Es ist sehr interessant. It is very interesting.

Wie immer klasse geschrieben. Spannung pur. Auch die privaten Geschichten um die Ermittler sind immer wieder spannend. Vielen dank dafür!

I like the detective stories written by this author. It is a good story, adapted for TV. But as always, the book is better.

Ein Roman, der den Taunus mit in die Handlung einbezieht- einfach spannend und toll. Liest sich in einem Stück durch…konnte einfach nicht aufhören.

Why do I rate this Krimi so highly? Well in true Neuhaus tradition it is unputdownable for all 534 pages with the tension becoming almost unbearable at times. Characters are well drawn, medical details are accurate, unpleasant events gave me the jitters at times. Apart from the crime itself and convincing police procedural there is the ongoing pleasure of catching up with the private lives of the lead characters, Pia Kirchhoff & Oliver von Bodenstein. They are not cardboard cutouts but human beings who feel pain and have their own failings, which can affect them in the conduct of their official duties.Another great delight is Neuhaus's use of wonderful idioms. Most of these I have come across myself in Germany but this time I had to ask German friends for an explanation of "die Kuh vom Eis kriegen" - having grown up in London this was not a situation I could readily recognize!!I'm really addicted to the wonderful Bodenstein series - long may it continue!!

Probablemente la mejor novela de la serie, Te engancha desde la primera página y no puedes dejar el libro, esperando saber qué ocurrirá.

Vi consiglio di leggerlo, se non in tedesco, in italiano "Biancaneve deve morire".Fino alla fine ci sono delle sorprese e quando pensi di aver capito chi è il colpevole, arrivano altri colpi di scena.

Spannend! Alle Bücher dieser Serie sind sehr gut. Die Autorin kann gut schreiben und es macht Spass sie zu lesen.
