We bought the candles for our ancestors' altar table during our wedding's tea ceremony. I expected to stay lit for about 10 minutes but we forgot to blow them out. When I came back about an hour later, it was still lit and very pretty. It was perfect.

Very nice authentic Chinese wedding candle. Use as gift . Love it

Gold imprint on candle was flaking off and not very clear or bold. Very fragile product pieces of the candle where chipped off during transport. They tried to package it well but product too fragile.

I was born in the year of the dragon so I really wanted to get these candles. The dragon and the phoenix are historically Chinese symbols for emperor and empress, and now symbolize a wedded couple. Red is also the color that a Chinese bride and groom would wear on their wedding day. It’s very stunning and very colorfulThe candles are beautifully carved and these are tall candles. the relief of the candle for the dragon and the phoenix are in gold and the candle itself is a red. It’s not a deep dark red, but it is a bright red. The only complaint I have, but it is easily fixed, is the wick at the bottom. It will fall out and it doesn’t stay in place. However all you gotta do is just heat up the wax in that area and just press the wick base into the candle when it’s soft and. When it hardens, the wick won’t fall outThese were also superbly packaged. They came in its own box and inside the box there were Styrofoam thick in several inches worth of Styrofoam where these candles reside. the Styrofoam box was actually had a red and gold festive cellophane wrapper around it, so this is nice to gift as well

The look of these candles drew me in but seeing them in person was a disappointment. The candles were molded, not dipped, so there is a seam running the length of the candle. The seam disrupts the flow of the design. The gilt painting of the designs wasn't particularly well done either. The wick falls out of the bottom when you pick it up. The base is also made of wax, it's a bulbous thing, all one piece, and I don't think there's a candle holder in the world that would fit it. These could be stunning candles, the idea is very good, but the execution is sorely lacking.

I bought these candles as I recently got married to a very beautiful Chinese woman. While I was unable to read the instructions on the back, it essentially says to just burn on a plate or candleholder. Thankfully this was something that is apparent from the design of the candles. However the candles do not burn for 3 hours as advertised. In fact they burn much longer. My wife and I started burning the candles around 7PM. It's now nearing midnight and one of the candles is still burning. We are tired and have work tomorrow and it is considered taboo to blow out the candle before it burns completely. As such we want to go to bed but the candle is burning and taunting us. Otherwise the candles arrived in good condition and not damaged. However the wick does tend to fall when the candles are lifted. Overall it's a great traditional candle, but it will burn for a long time.
