It goes by military time
Easy to install and does work. However the clock is military time and the touch to set is not sensitive enough for the screen.

Never buy it again
They sent a defective, untested product."Y" terminal got it's signal from the "R" terminal upon call to start cooling. That in turn should energize the built-in relay inside this thermostat to activate the compressor contactor.Built-in relay never made contact when it received the 24 volt to activate it.I am a HVAC contractor, always exploring ways to save my customers by finding new products that looks and sounds like bargain. This is NOT one of them. Never buy it again.

It worked well.
It was replaced by HVAC installer bc a new Honeywell thermostat came w/ new HVAC unit. But I can’t send it back for a refund bc I missed your date for returns.

Triple Success Story
I bought one of these thermostats in June. It had a bunch of features I couldn't find in competitive models. The ability to turn off predictive temperature changes since I'm on Time of Use billing with my power company. Also, the ability to clearly and visibly set individual day programming helps adapt the thermostat to my needs. I found the thermostat programming and customization to be clear and straightforward.I liked it so much, I bought two more! Now each of my heat pumps for main house, upstairs and garage has the same Saswell Thermostat. Even with heat pumps installed 30 years ago to this summer, the instructions and diagrams made the upgrade simple. There is one minor error in the instructions that could cause problems. The "O" and "B" instructions are exactly backwards from what most heat pumps require. So if your A/C comes on when you select Heat, you would have to move the wire on "O" or "B" to the opposite terminal. I did hope that they might have corrected this in the manual included with the newer thermostats, but the wording is still the same. There are a few other obviously incorrect words in the manual, but they don't affect its readability.

Warning
This is a good product, however the description is deceiving. It claims to support aux, emergency, Heat pump systems, but it DOES NOT. Wired this thermostat myself and my heat pump would not work. Also it deos not have an option for emergency heat on the display. Had to call a professional, and he confirmed the issue was the thermostat as it claims to support heat pump systems and energency heat, but its just false info. Its a good product for conventinal systems however.

For the price it's ok for a while, but it doesn't last and no customer service.
Purchased 08/21.Worked fine for the first 2 years then began 'loosing memory'.... set temp would change or would change modes sometimes. At first we thought someone was messing with it but eventually realized it was the 'stat itself. Then the display went blank although it seemed to control the a/c properly. There was no way to see display to make changes/adjustments.Repeated attempts to contact Saswell have not been returned and it's closing in on the 3 year warr.I finally gave up and bought a quality name-brand Honeywell because I HAD to be able to control the geothermal system, and could not wait on Saswell.Lesson learned,

All the functionality of the big brand names at half the price
This is just as good as a major brand $100-$150 thermostat. It functions for systems with both heat and A/C. You can select the deadband range (we use 3 degrees to prevent too much cycling). You can also choose the cycle rate for the heat and cool separately. (Long for A/C and short for heat). There are 4 times of day you can custom program for each day of the week. (Sleep>wake>leave>return. It is easy to use and program and not too big or small.

Large screen
So far so good. I have had two of these installed for about a week now. Up to now they are performing beautifully. I love the big screen and the fact that it can be be set for when you wake up, leave the house, come back home, go to sleep. Installation was very easy for me as I only use it for heat.

Solid and Easy to Install
I have used other brands of thermostats. In this case I had a Trane thermostat that ceased functioning properly after 16 years. That should not happen, but that is another story. The replacement Trane model was in the hundreds of dollars. This Saswell model is reasonably priced and works fine. It is almost the same measurement as the Trane one; it is solid; and the wiring diagram for various configurations is easy enough to understand.

Excellent Replacement Thermostat...Easy to Install...Touch Screen is Great!
I was a little leery of replacing our old analog style thermostat with a new touch screen type, but our old one was dying so I had to make the plunge. So glad that I did. This thermostat is extremely easy to install and replace an old unit. There are instructions in the manual that comes with the unit, but it's small and difficult to read. Wiring stickers are provided if your old wires are not already marked. However THE BEST news is that there are several videos on Youtube that show you how to install this particular thermostat, taking you from the dismantling of your old unit to the install of the new one, step by step. So I would recommend reviewing those how-to videos before tackling the job.The unit is battery backed up by two AA batteries, but apparently only uses the batteries in times of power failures. Which since your HVAC system requires power to work, it simply to keep any of your stored settings or programs intact. The screen can be set to NO BACKLIGHT, TOUCH BACKLIGHT, or ALWAYS ON BACKLIGHT as to your preference. YOU WILL have to change certain default settings depending upon your HVAC system. For example, the HEATING and COOLING defaults are for FAST START up which turns your AC or Heater on whenever the temp changes 0.5'C below/above your set TEMP. So your heater will be constantly turning on, and on, and on every time the temp drop just a bit. This can be changes in the digital settings to "SLOW START" mode which allows the temp to rise or drop 1.5'C before turning the AC or Heat back on. Our furnace was going through a workout before I realized that I needed to change the setting. This control for the Heat and Cooling is separate so that you can have the Heat on one setting and AC on another. The screen is large and when backlit, EXTREMELY easy to read. When you switch from HEAT to COOL, the thermostat computer automatically delays the switch over by about 30 seconds to a minute before turning the Air Conditioner ON. This is to prevent electrical issues, and something that we had to do manually with our old thermostat to avoid damaging the system so it's nice that the designers thought of this. Please note that THIS version of the SASWELL thermostat (SAS6000UTK-7) is NOT Wi-Fi programmable. So you cannot control this unit with a phone app. There is another model that does this, but I was unaware that it existed prior to purchase (I learned this through the Youtube videos).Considering that this thermostat cost roughly the same as our OLD unit, which was not nearly as feature packed and was mostly analog in design, This is a GREAT deal to help modernize your HVAC controls. My only concern is the longevity of the touch screen or backlight, BUT I have no reason to question it at this point. I work in several office buildings and have seen SASWELL products installed there, so I imagine that their products are reliable. Will update if I experience any problems with the new unit, but to date, I'm extremely happy with this purchase!

Garbage product
I purchased this thermostat just under a year ago and it simply not worth it. Only worked for about 2 months and then burned out my home furnace circuit board. The thermostat also turns off and on every few minutes and my gas prices soared as a result. Complete waste of money, would give 0 stars if I could.

Looks great but didn’t work
Looks great and seemed easy to use, had a certified HVAC technician come install it & it didn’t work. No matter what temp we set it never went up. Over night woke up to 52 degree (11 Celsius) installed the Honeywell and it’s now working fine.
