Nice
I have never used one of these before. To stop the constant banging between the hitch stinger and the receiver (especially with empty and/or light trailers), I used to drill and tap a 1/2" hole in the bottom of the receiver and insert a cap screw that could then be tightened-up against the stinger to take up that slack and eliminate the banging - - - but, over time, that cap screw would become rusty and a bit awkward to loosen and re-tighten. So, on my latest new vehicle, I didn't do that but opted for this hitch tightener - - - - it works perfectly!

Stainless Steel Seized Up 1st Use
I am a tradesman who works with metal every day. Stainless steel sounds like a great idea until it seizes up - you cannot remove the nut. I knew this, so I tried not to over tighten the nuts. One nut shook loose and the other seized up. I'd like to give this 1-star. But the bracket is actually really nice and heavy. They just need to change the bolt/nuts to zinc steel or yellow zinc which would not seize up. One review said zinc steel is cheap. It's plenty strong and way better than having to throw away $12.

If it works, who am I to complain !!!
Anything that helps stop the sloppy movement of my receiver hitch equipment platform is worth the investment. I use a 500 lb rated platform to carry 200 lbs of equipment that used to move and sway back and forth quite a bit. This device eliminated that concern. It installs quickly. Mine came with 2 flat washers, two lock washers, and four nuts. It fits very well around a 2" receiver. Tightens up just fine and eliminates the movement.I suppose there's better products out there but this one works just fine for me. It's a keeper.

Works even better than I was expecting !!!
This works GREAT to stabilize my cargo carrier on the back of my Jeep that I take on the drive-on beach several times a week... It always bugged me that when my cargo carrier was loaded with a cooler, several beach chairs & beach umbrellas, it would lean to one side... (It was more of an appearance issue than a functional issue.) I started using this hitch tightener & that resolved the problem... Very heavy duty item - well worth the price - worked much better than I even anticipated !!!

2 for 1: Quiet and Theft Deterrence
Can't believe I'd never seen one of these before, but once I did I had to have it. Totally silenced the rattle of the hitch in the receiver box, and a great theft deterrent as well.I run it 'upside down' and it works just as well with no worries dragging the dirt off-road on my Jeep.

Some hitches are tighter than others
And some rattle like there's no tomorrow. This keeps your ball mount from banging around in your receiver hitch. Two nuts with flat and lock washers , tight and done. The hardware could be of higher quality, which would cost a little more, but would be worth the difference.Perhaps offer "better" hardware for a $1 premium?Don't get me wrong, it's functional, but the washers are cheap.

u bolt snapped
left it on car hitch two winters. Tried to take off and nuts were frozen stuck to u-bolt. Sprayed bolt loosening compound. then tried...snapped u bolt. How am I supposed to trust something this soft with stabilizing a hitch

Very solid product. Made well and works well.
I added a 2” hitch to my Polaris RZR1000, which I inserted a 2” drawbar (with shackle) into it. The rattling was driving me crazy! I installed this hitch tightener and it’s quiet again! I could just remove the drawbar, but I use it almost every day. If your drawbar is rattling, this is the solution!

Awesome Removed 80 -90 percent of noise.
Easy to install and definitely did the trick. I have have an SUV and get a lot of transfer noise from the hitch and when towing my boat. This eliminates approximately 80 to 90 percent of the noise. There is still noise present but it is definitely tolerable now. It also acts as a slight security feature as once Installed you can not remove the hitch without a wrench. I have had hitches stolen before so it's nice to have a little extra security. I just grabbed a cheap wren h from a local hardware store and store it in the back of my suv so I can easily remove it if I need to.

Unable to do the job its made for
As others have stated in the reviews, the U bolt is made from very soft steel. In order to get it tight enough to stop your tow load from wobbling or rattling, you must over tighten it. Which bends and warps the U bolt and strips the threads. Because of this its only good for one time use.

Does what it said it would do.
I have a carrying rack on my hitch for a 200 pound e-scooter. It tightened everything up so that now there is no movement or rattles. A good product although expensive for what it is.
