I liked everything about this 24 volts

Powerful
Three speed, long battery life. The dual charger chargers two batteries at once... takes only 20-30 minutes! 4 stars due to loudness.

Greenworks has historically been a value-based manufacturer of battery powered outdoor equipment. More recently Greenworks has ventured into the cordless hand tool market with a line of 24V hand tools.I have several Greenworks outdoor tools, including a chainsaw that was rated a top budget buy by a famous consumer rating site. This updated impact driver joins a fairly small catalog of 24V hand tools from Greenworks, including a jigsaw, grinder, sander, reciprocating saw, vacuum and several drills and drivers.Interestingly, this is a new model from Greenworks. They released a similar driver earlier this year which was bigger and had 2640 foot pounds of torquen to this model's 1950 foot pounds. According to Greenworks, this model is 25% smaller, and I believe it. It's significantly lighter and shorter. But, of course, it's also less powerful. This is a capable, brushless cordless impact driver. It's lightweight and fairly compact. Speed is variable with three speeds available depending on trigger pull. 1/4 inch drive. Torque is a moderate 1950 inch-pounds. An LED light comes on with trigger pull. This is a fine homeowner grade impact driver with a number of surprisingly good features for the price. Right now the two-battery package is $115 on Amazon while the one-battery package is $110. By all means, pay the extra to get two batteries. Batteries which can be used to charge via USB-C and work with other Greenworks tools. If you have invested in Greenworks batteries and tools, this will be a fine addition to your collection. If you are not already invested in Greenworks, you might want to consider Ryobi, a similarly-priced manufacturer with a far larger collection of hand tools and batteries than Greenworks at this time.

It makes an Impact
I already have corded and cordless drills and hammer drills, but I didn’t have an impact driver until I received this Greenworks 2,600-in-lbs one. I have many top of the line drills, which cost 3 or 4 times the cost of this one, but I had always heard good things about the Greenworks line of battery operated tools and I wanted to try one out.I was knocked over by how well this impact driver performed. In the video I show the drill screwing in a good size lag bolt into a piece of maple and to make it even tougher, I didn’t have a pre-drilled pilot hole. The noise the driver makes really changes when it’s using the impact feature. The grip is comfortable in my hand. The fit and finish is good for this price point. I was a little surprised that the box didn’t have an instruction booklet included, but all the parts were in the box and I’ve used drills for a many decades so I know how to use one without the booklet. The LED light is a nice touch and it stays on for a little while after the trigger is released. The extra light is always nice since my eyes are getting older. One little extra feature that I didn’t know that Greenworks did was to add a USB power port on the 24V battery. That could come in handy, especially if I don’t forget about it. You do need to slide a spring loaded cover to the side to access the port. I’m guessing the cover keeps dust out.Overall, this is a powerful, well priced impact driver. Another bonus is that the battery will work in other Greenworks woodworking and outdoor tools.

Wow, no shortage of torque from my use so far!
I'm going to be completely honest here, I haven't used this anywhere close to max power. I've used it on the lowest setting and the medium setting but I haven't even needed to turn it up to max yet.I've been building a little shed/workshop (can be seen in the background of the pic included) and I was able to use this impact driver to hang some drywall and also to install the metal roof. When hanging drywall, I had to turn this to the lowest setting or it would drive the screws right through. Obviously hanging drywall is not the ideal usage for this impact driver. (I do know that... haha)My Dad was working with me though and he has a drywall screwgun. Since I don't have a screwgun though, I was at least able to use this impact driver while he used his screwgun so we could both hang the sheets at the same time, relatively quickly. When installing the metal roof, this driver just goes... fast. I had no issues securing the metal roof sheets. I found myself mostly using it on the "medium" setting for this job too and it was able to do half the roof on one charge. (I did charge the battery up at night to do the other half though, but it didn't seem like it was running out at the end of the day or anything. I had 2 other people working with me too though, so again that also split the work load up.)If this driver doesn't continue to provide the same performance it's demonstrated so far, I'll definitely try to come back and update my review. (I say this in a lot of my reviews, but if I have a product that stops working "early" or what I'd consider early, I ALWAYS try to come back and update the review!)I typically try to rate products on the value for the money and in my opinion this is a very good value. The two batteries, battery charger and tool definitely seem worth the price in my opinion. The driver does feel a bit more "budget" than some other name brand tools. It doesn't seem like it's weak or anything though, so I'm not worried about the slight budget feel.(I mentioned this in my greenworks hammer drill review, but if you tap on the bottom of the greenworks batteries, they sound a little more hollow than the name brand batteries for some reason?)Since I can't really find any issues with this impact driver, I have to rate it 5 out of 5. I don't think "slightly hollow" sounding batteries is really enough to deduct stars, so I'd definitely recommend it if you're in the market for a new impact driver!
