I like it, but the cover only lasted a few months
I got one of the wider futons because I move a lot at night. I think it's comfy, that being said my room has a fairly thick carpet, so the futon might be too thin on a harder surface. For the price it's pretty good, though it doesn't really fold like a futon should. The biggest problem I have is the cover sheet that zips over it - it's just the tiniest bit too small, which makes folding it even harder, but more importantly it started ripping just a few months in, I fixed the first one, but I felt another a week later and when I went to fix that one I realized there were a bunch of rips on both sides. Idk if it's made worse by being too small or if it's just bad quality, but the covers are expensive enough that buying a few of them would cost the same as getting a whole new futon. Frustrating. Luckily I haven't found any on the futon itself yet

Thin, but portable
Used this for van life for a while on a homemade futon bed. Folded easily into sofa or bed mode, but not a ton of cushion.

Soo comfortable
Love this mattress pad soo comfortable and really cute! Use it on top of my double cot bed for camping fits perfectly instead of a air mattress. Also love the fact that it comes with a matching print dustproof cover so definitely perfect for camping at the beach or anywhere else where there gets to be dust, dirt or sand on the bed easy to swipe off. And also machine washable. The thing I do kind of dislike is how it's not very compressed so it is pretty big to take places it takes up alot of space in a vehicle. But still not a deal breaker for me.

Good when stacking two one on top of the other; great carry bag; no bad smell
As many reviews suggested, one of these is probably not enough for a hardwood floors. I sort of expected that and bought four (2 of these and 2 from another brand). I'd say that even just 2 of these one on top of the other are decent for a hardwood floor. For me I needed something right away that would be easy to store away later (when I get my "real" mattress). With the 1 day shipping that was available in my area these solved the problem. The carry bag that comes with these is really good. It's spacious enough that you don't have to be an expert in packing to get the mattress in the bag.In my case there was no smell even out of the box, before I even aired it. So that part was good as well.Suggestion to manufacturer: make one double thickness. At about $130+ it'd still be profitable and earn 5 stars for the product.

Poor quality control, weird smell, and quite thin
I just receive this mattress today, so I will be discussing my first impressions. I plan to update the review once we’ve had it for a while. My boyfriend and I are college students. We live in a very old little apartment and we only have a window a/c unit in the living room. Unfortunately, that makes it much too hot to sleep in the bedroom some nights, so we’ve been lugging our heavy mattress across our apartment from the bedroom to the living room. Definitely not fun!I visited Japan a few summers ago and it dawned on me that my host family’s futon mattresses were rather nifty and portable. What a great solution to hauling a heavy mattress back and forth across our apartment! From what I’ve tested so far, this mattress folds up well and fits perfectly behind the furniture in our living room. However, here’s the negative so far. When I first grabbed the box from our lobby, it definitely felt very light. I was quite surprised. That can be good, because it makes it more portable, but I was hoping this thing would be a little bit more sturdy and thick. When I first opened the package, I was hit with a quite putrid smell. It reminds me of a fish market. Additionally, the two bags the futon came in seem quite flimsy. I am worried about how they will hold up. I see other reviews note that they ripped quite shortly, and I wouldn’t be surprised if that happens. The mattress feels a lot more thin than I expected and it’s definitely not as thick as advertised. I know a futon mattress will not be as thick as my mattress—I don’t want it to be, really. However, the ones I slept on in Japan were a lot more plush and dense. I’ve attached a photo I took of the thickness while it’s airing out on our laundry rack. The description also states that the mattress has five layers— cotton fabric, cotton padding, memory foam, cotton padding, then cotton fabric. From feeling around the mattress, it feels like that middle memory foam layer is missing in some places. It also feels a bit lumpy in others, like there’s perhaps memory foam overlapping. I wish there was perhaps better quality control with that. I also question if the cotton material and padding are actually cotton? They feel strangely synthetic.Laying on it out of the box, it feels comfortable enough. I think we will sleep okay on it, but I wish it actually had the thickness and all of the memory foam promised. I feel quite misled and disappointed. I have it airing out now and hope it will puff up a little bit more (and stink a little less), but my hopes are not high.

Becomes flat quickly
Item arrived in good shape, but quickly lost it’s cushioning and became flat in the sleeping spots. I am not satisfied with this product.
