Dr. Lin Skincare 2Step Acne Clarifying System Set for Mild to Moderate Breakouts Includes Daily Foaming Cleanser Acne Spot Corrector For Teens Adults Clears Pimples Clinical Strength

This is my first time writing a review ever, but I felt it was absolutely necessary for this product. I AM IN LOVE!!! I am a 19 year old college student with very oily and sensitive skin (when I say oily and sensitive I mean oily as in I have to wipe/blot/powder my face every 30 minutes and sensitive as in if I touch my face with dirty hands, I'll have three new pimples in that area within the next couple of hours) and a crazy schedule that doesn't really allow for me to have a strict or time consuming skin care regimen. I am also a make-up enthusiast and was very pleased with this product in the cleansing of makeup as well. I've struggled with acne since I turned about 15. Cystic acne as well as hormonal acne which are both so tough to clear. I started out using Nuetrogena products which were a quick fix but sadly only temporary. This product not only reduced my oil production but got rid of ALL of my acne. Every single bump or pimple that I had whether it were a whitehead, blackhead, cystic, or even a scar from past pimples were cleared up! I started to see results the day after my first use. Again, it reduced my oil production as well as smoothed all the fine bumps around my jawline and forehead. By day three my problem areas were 75% gone!! In two weeks, my face was completely clear! This sample size lasted me for about one month, I immediately came back to Amazon and purchased the larger sizes of every product. The cleanser is refreshing and light weight but gets the job done while the spot corrector literally gets rid of pimples overnight. The lotion is soothing but I find it to be the most drying product in the kit. DISCLAIMER: this WILL dry out your skin. It uses a combination of peroxides and silica acid to fight present and future acne. But again it works for me and doesn't dry my skin out too much because of the super oily skin that I have. I even use hydrogen peroxide as a toner in combination with these products and my skin is still not too dry (if that again can give you an idea of how oily my skin is). Overall, I do not recommend this product for dry skin people and probably not even combo skin because it will further dry out your more dry areas. But, if you're an oil slick person like me, 10/10 recommend!!

This is great for clearing skin. I originally purchased the spot corrector a few years ago before my wedding because my skin was breaking out a bit from stress. It worked really well, and my skin was totally clear of the stress-induced breakouts for my wedding. Hooray!Recently, I had been having breakouts again, mainly due to stress and a poor sleep schedule. I was really frustrated, then I remembered that the Spot Corrector had been an awesome find before my wedding. I went on Amazon because I couldn't find Dr. Lin on the Ulta website (I originally purchased it at an Ulta store). I got this set because it seemed like a good deal compared to just buying a larger tube of the Corrector (I barely dented the larger original tube, even though I was using it daily).My skin felt better the first day after using the cleanser. The redness and breakouts cleared up quickly, in just a few days. Also, I didn't strictly stick to the application recommendation every day. The three different products are different strengths, so I just judged for myself about which one to use or which combination to use. I always cleaned my face with the cleanser. Sometimes I used the lotion, and sometimes I didn't. So, if you don't feel comfortable leaving something on your face overnight (the lotion), you can do whatever works for you and you'll probably still see results.I don't have extremely acne-prone skin, so I can't speak to the products' effectiveness in such cases. However, my experience is that I would look in the mirror and think, Damn! This stuff is soooo good. And it is a steal for how well it works.

This is a great skincare system for hormonal acne. I have been using this system for last 3 months and my face is finally cleared up. I like it not only because they are effective for treating acne, also because it doesn't dry out my skin like some other acne systems do. In morning and at night, I wash my face and let the face wash leave on the face for 2-3 mins before rinse it off. Then, I put on step 2 lotion all over my face, and put spot treatment on the acne only. Finally, I put on the Dr Lin Daily Hydrating Gel (sold separately) on top to keep my skin moisturized. All of the products not only contain acne fighting ingredients, but also vitamin C, Arbutin, and Kojic Acid, because these 3 ingredients helps acne marks fade much faster, and make skin more radiant and brighten. Only 3 months of this skincare routine, I now no longer wear foundation. However, I agree with the previous reviews that even all products come in a same box, each products have its own different expiration dates. As long as they aren't expired, I think it's fine to use them. I do wish the company would fix this "different expiration dates" problem. But all in all, this system really saves my face, and I highly recommend it.P.S: another important "ingredient" for fighting acne is PATIENT, please give it at least 6-8 weeks before you see improvement :)

I have been using this kit for 2 complete days now.Pros so far: Visible improvement in acne. Clearer and less redness. Smells good. Lathers great. Feels like a great clean afterwards.Cons so far: I am using the hydrating gel and lotion and still experiencing a lot of dryness, especially around the chin and under chin areas. My skin in those areas itches quite a bit. I already have skin on the greasy side so if you have dry skin already, prepare for it to be worse.I am going to try reducing my use to just once a day. I hope I still see the same amount of clarity as I am now and hoping it will reduce the dryness.I will post updates after I use it longer. Fingers crossed my skin just needs to get used to the change in regimen. Otherwise, I will continue to use it because the results are worth it.
