Tiny but powerful (some of it, anyway)
Once an author dies, there's a collaborative rush to push out anything they have said or done or written. You'll notice the large font here, so there is not a lot in it. The only one on WRITING, as the title implies is the first one, and it's really about Duras' house, her ability to write there, almost in desperation. There are some smart moments, and certainly good if you want to learn more about her. That said, the cover is a miss, hardly representative of her and the effort of a rushed person; and it could've done more to include more timely, important and WRITER focused work. A poor effort, though, we take it.

Amazing Insights into an Original Mind
Duras is like no other writer. In her essay on writing, she shares a rare perspective on the true craft of creative writing. Hers is a unique genius.

Great perspective on the writing life
Great anecdotes. Very opinionated. Excellent view into a great writer's process. Her descriptions were lucid and made me feel I was in her place of solitude.

Intrusive and meaningless questions.
I refuse to fill out "is there violence" or "sexual content" questions. Arrived quickly, as described.

Beautiful Book
I enjoyed this, my 4th book I've brought by her. I do have a question which I hope someone will help on. In her chapter on Rome, she refers to the Queen of Caesarea and of Samaria. Also a Roman General who conquered her country and took her to Rome. Does anyone know the identity for certain? I can't seem to nail down firmly to my own satisfaction. I would like to search out a biography on them, if any exists.I have 4 of her books so far and have re-read each twice so far. Other than Cormac McCarthy's books, this hasn't happened for a long time.I recommend it highly.
