Sui Ishida is awesome!
So far volumes 1 and 2 are great, there is a bigger story unfolding! I'm not spoiling this read and find out for yourself. It's worth the money.

New Sui Ishida is just as big and beautiful as his previous work
I'm a big fan of the Tokyo Ghoul manga. Every little detail is infinitely enjoyable: the art, the story, the myriad of characters and their pain and relationships. So I was a little sad to see the series end. I knew it was inevitable, but that didn't make it easier. So when I heard that his new series was finally getting an english release I was really excited. So far, the story is moving slowly and carefully, setting everything up for the future, so I can't correctly judge the story as of yet. But I look forward to seeing the characters progress. I see that Sui Ishida has returned to a theme he has examined before: people confronting grotesque and strange changes to their bodies. I hope to see the story develop in a way that differentiates it and and its handling of themes from Tokyo Ghoul.

Sui Ishida is BACK!!
I'm a big fan of Sui Ishida's Tokyo Ghoul series, and when this new book released in English, I picked it up immediately. The shipping speed was as predicted, and I had no quality issues with the book's physical structure. Everything was as it should be.The story itself started to remind me of Tokyo Ghoul in some aspects such as the art style (obviously - it's the same artist), the dialogue flow, and the comparison of in-world behavior to animals/bugs. Initially I was worried that the story would be a redux of TG, but the characters, particularly the dynamic between Tokio and Azuma, really made it its own story. The struggle they each face - Tokio feeling unable to act independently, and Azuma feeling the weight of others' expectation on his shoulders - feels very appropriate for their age and gives the story so much flavor. That's all without dumping in a tiny heroine, which was unexpected but very welcome.Overall, it's a solid story with clear elements of Sui Ishida's style. Small details will remind you of Tokyo Ghoul, if you've read it, but the story is strongly its own entity with compelling characters and an intriguing premise.

Great read
Awesome mang, very enjoyable read. I definitely see the potential this series can have, especially after Tokyo ghoul was such a massive success for the author 👏

It’s okay.
It’s just okay so far. The only character I like so far is Ely. Tokio is annoying so far, Azuma feels unbelievable as a character, Sandek is HIDEOUS. Noh mask guy is okay but we don’t really know much about him yet.Another issue I have is with the tone of the manga. Is Choujin x comedy? Is it supposed to be serious? How am I supposed to read this? The tone is all over the place. The biggest issue I have is the art. Don’t get me wrong, the art is wonderful. But I was expecting the art to be the beautiful style that Tokyo Ghoul was drawn in. TG’s art is genuinely so unique and gorgeous, so imagine my disappointment when I opened up Choujin and realized the art style was borderline generic mainstream-friendly. I’ll still be reading it because I’m interested, but keep in mind Choujin x is nothing like Tokyo Ghoul.

It's a build up vol to a bigger story.
Love it. A slow build up but you can tell it is building the background for something big later

Boring start.
I am a huge fan of all kinds of manga and to me this story started off too boring. There were action scenes from the start, but the characters just didn't hold my attention. They seemed bland and uninteresting.

Recommended, especially if you like sui ichida
The cover art is amazing as expected of a sui ichida manga, and the story is dark, quirky and original. Very good read, i recommend.
