I wanted to experiment with making my own candles, and I can confirm this works really well for me. I also used it for heating solid coconut oil as well for some homemade products, which was also perfect. I thought this would be more convenient for me than getting the double boiler and having 2 products to deal with, and I was right!I have used both soy wax and gel wax with it and it does a great job at heating them evenly and pours nicely too. Cleaning the wax off things is always a farce unfortunately lol. The soy is ok if you scrape most off it off then leave it to soak in hot water for a while, but I found the gel wax is a little trickier to clean off as it leaves a tacky texture. However that's more about the wax than the product. Would recommend this!

Spout does not work and pours wax everywhere
A very messy way to make candles. The spout is not deep enough hand wax pours all over no matter how slow you pour. Will be tossing these unfortunately.

Do not melt pewter with this product
I used this pot for melting tin/bismuth alloy on my stove, after 4 uses the pot developed a hole in the bottom and leaked liquid metal over my stove.
