Well built, easy to use
This lock is as expected. Fits perfectly into 5/8" hole on the hitch receiver of my vehicle. Comes with two keys and the black plastic cover over the key hole is a nice feature which protects the lock from debris getting into the keyhole. Seems very sturdy and it's easy to get on and off while still remaining secure when in use. Recommend it to anyone who needs one!**Purchased (2) to securely attach a CURT 45791 2" Receiver Extender and CURT 18153 Basket Style Cargo Carrier to my 2003 Toyota 4Runner.*NOTE: Because I purchased two of these to use on a hitch and a trailer, and the keys look the same, I decided to use nail polish to identify them. It's a hack I've used before and it works for me. Some may just want to buy a different color lock, but since the chrome ones were the least expensive, I went with this trick. Makes it much easier when you're in a hurry to locate the lock and key.NOTE: There is some free space between the end of the lock and the side of the hitch, and as some other reviewers have shown this gap may need to be filled to prevent the locks from sliding back and forth when in place. I purchased two packs of (10) 5/8" rubber gaskets - found in the plumbing area of a local store - to put 10 on each lock. Works great to eliminate any sliding of the receiver lock..

Do not buy
Do not buy this. I used it once to tow my new 8000# trailer 250 miles. I unlocked it to take the hitch off and the locking end would not come off the shaft. I was afraid I was going to have to cut it off. Fortunately I got it off with a stout prybar. I played with it a little to see what the problem was. The key wouldn't even rotate the lock at this point even though I had just located it. There were ridges along the shaft indicating the metal is way too soft for a hitch pin. I have never seen that on a hitch pin before.

Seemed great...until I had to remove it.
Unfortunately I may have received a faulty product. I used it one time on a long trip towing my travel trailer. We had a little bit of rain on the start and finish of the 1 week trip. When I finally got home, unpacked, last thing to do was remove the trailer hitch...with negative results. I wrestled with the Hitch Lock for at least 20 min. I even sprayed lock lube into the key hole and around the locking mechanism. The key would turn, but I was not able to remove the lock from the pin. It would come off about 1/2", but was getting caught up/seized up at the grooved part of the pin. I used gentle prying with a short pry bar, light tapping with a rubber mallet, and it still would not come off. Finally, for necessity sake, I had to smash the lock off with a hammer, because I had to remove the hitch and place another type of hitch in the reciever.I give it two stars because it is a perfect size for the 2 1/2" reciever and seemed solid. If it had worked properly, it would have done its purpose. However, as a pretty mechanically inclined person, I was not able to remove the lock without resorting to breaking it...and it was only 1 week old. I have had several other brands of hitch locks, and this was sadly the worst of all those I have bought. My others at least last a couple of years.

Returned
I thought this would be a good option as I need both 1/2" and 5/8" pins but it's annoying as to remove the 5/8" sleeve you need to remove the o-ring then reinstall, but it's even more annoying that you have to remove the o-ring even when the 5/8" sleeve is not on because it won't go through my bike rack hole with it on, since the outer diameter of the o-ring is greater than 1/4". Other than that it does seem well made.

So far, so good
First impressions: This is a tough pin that locks securely. The sleeve makes it possible to use it with 1.25" or 2" receivers, which is nice. Time will tell if it will hold up to North Dakota winters and months of road salt exposure. The rubber cover and grip are nice now, but something tells me they won't last long; also, the metal seems like it will most likely corrode. Overall however, the unit seems like it'll last quite a while and was relatively inexpensive for how good it is.

This is a great product, well made and reasonably priced
This is a great product, well made and reasonably priced.Unfortunately, it does not fit my 2013 GMC Sierra 2500HD. My vehicle has a 2 1/2" receiver which uses a sleeve to reduce down to a 2" hitch. This receiver lock is not quite long enough to be able to lock in place when installed in the receiver. It hits the welded flange of the receiver before it locks into place.I will keep it and use on another vehicle, but for my Sierra I will have to do more research.

Just a helpful tip...
this lock works perfect but rubber cap doesn't protect good enough from moisture. I just recently bought a new truck and we had to cut the hitch lock off because we couldn't get it to unlocked. We sprayed penetrating oil, bang on it and talked ugly to it but it wouldn't succumb to our efforts. Anyway I just order a new one and this one will be lathered up with silicone grease. So do yourself a favor when you get it.

Buy a different lock
The Connor Trailer Hitch lock really appealed to me based on the description. It had the two sizes I needed for my stuff. It appeared to be of decent quality when it arrived. However, after only a few short weeks things started to deteriorate. First the lock was "sticky" and just a little tough to control. After a while it got so bad that I could barely get the key into the slot. In the end, the key snapped off in the lock rendering the pin useless. Fortunately, this happened while it wasn't in use. I cannot recommend this lock and would suggest trying another brand entirely. I bought a CURT brand lock instead and it seem to be working just fine for the month I've owned it. Good luck in your decision!
